Heroic Long Island dad who tracked down his missing daughter is being called the real life dad from the hit movie "Taken".
When Frank Gervasi's 14-year-old old daughter went missing he was not going to stop until he found her. The whole saga began on December 9th when Frank's daughter went outside to get items out of a vehicle at their New York home and never came back inside.
Frank was instantly alarmed and ready to do whatever it took to get his daughter back. He called authorities shortly after realizing she had vanished and a large scale search ensued.
Tips poured in and Frank did work closely with law enforcement to try to locate his daughter. However, Frank never took a day off and continued to make pleas on social media as well as follow up on tips... all on his own.
On January 3rd, Frank received a tip that his daughter was being held on a boat in Islip. Not wasting any time, Frank barreled full speed ahead serving as his own back up. He headed to the location and forced his way onto the boat.
Miraculously the tip was solid and Frank was able to rescue his daughter from the horrible situation she was in. Frank believes his daughter left with someone she knew, but the situation quickly spiraled out of her control. He says he thinks that after she left with a known individual she was transferred to the boat by someone else, and found herself in a situation that she could not get out of without being saved. Many individuals believe she was grabbed in order to be human trafficked.
65-year-old Francis Buckheit was arrested for kidnapping and r*** in connection to the disappearance of Emmarae Gevasi. He has entered a not guilty plea and is due in court this week.
Emmarae has been in the hospital recovering from the ordeal since her January 3rd rescue by her dad, who would not give up.
Great job, Frank. Seriously, you are definitely a hero.
