S. A: THREE BUSINESS ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN MAHWELERENG. (PHOTOS).

 Three Business Robbery Suspects Arrested in Mahwelereng Mahwelereng police have arrested three suspects shortly after two business robberies were carried out on the morning of Wednesday, 23 April 2025. The suspects allegedly robbed a shop in Ga-Rauwele and a supermarket in Sekuruwe, using imitation firearms to steal cellphones, cigarettes, groceries, and cash. Acting swiftly, the Mahwelereng Visible Policing Unit tracked down the suspects' getaway vehicle, a white Chevrolet sedan, which crashed during a police chase on the N11 road. All three suspects were arrested on the scene. Stolen goods and two pellet guns were recovered from the vehicle. The suspects, currently under hospital care due to crash injuries, will appear in court soon. Investigations are ongoing. More photos below. 

LAGOS DECLARES TOMORROW JUNE 12 PUBLIC HOLIDAY.

                 The Lagos State Government today sunday declared tomorrow monday public holiday to mark June 12 celebration in the State,saying that the State remains committed to the ideals of the annulled 1993 Presidential election.In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government,Mr Tunji Bello on behalf of the State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode,the government said the holiday was in honour of the ideas which June 12,1993 Presidential election represents being a day that the country experienced an election that was adjudged as the freest and fairest in Nigeria's history.The Governor said 24 years after,the ideals of June 12 commemoration were worth celebrating,describing the day as one of the most defining moments of the country's political history which has positively shaped its democratic rule.Governor Ambode said the time has come for Nigerians to go beyond the commemoration and entrench a viable democracy as a way to immo...

ADIYAN WATERWORKS IN LAGOS,TO BE SHUT DOWN FROM TOMORROW FOR MAINTENANCE.

               Lagos Water Corporation has announced that there will be a temporary shutdown of Adiyan Waterworks from Monday 12th-Tuesday 13th June 2017,for routine maintenance exercise.A statement issued today by the Managing Director/CEO,Lagos Water Corporation,Engr. Muminu Badmus at his Ijora office,said the exercise became necessary for optimal water production and supply capacity to the service areas of the water plant.According to the statement,''the areas that will be affected by the maintenance works are Ketu,Alapere,Omole Phase I & II,Ogudu,Isheri Oke,Amuwo,Itire,Orile Iganmu,and Sari-Iganmu''.Badmus said the disruption in water supply to the listed areas will only last for a short period of time and assured Lagosians of the Corporation's commitment towards providing sufficient potable water supply in the State.

                Yesterday saturday,as part of their contribution to host community and to further enhance cordial civil-military relations,troops of 174 Battalion,9 Brigade Nigerian Army,located at Odogunyan,performed an extra-ordinary community relations activity along Ikorodu-Sagamu road which lasted from 7.30am-3.10pm.The troops led by the unit's Commanding Officer,Lieutenant Colonel Benedict Chinwuba Ezeh,cleared the blocked drainage system along Ikorodu-Sagamu road and filled up the potholes at Odogunyan Bus Stop and the Market area. OGUN STATE DECLARES TOMORROW JUNE 12 WORK-FREE TO HONOUR M.K.O ABIOLA.

                  Consistent with its practice in the past six years,and,as a way of identifying with and keeping the ideas of June 12 alive,the Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,has declared Monday,June 12,2017 as work-free.The announcement was contained in a statement issued on friday in Abeokuta,signed by the Secretary to the State Government,Taiwo Adeoluwa.According to the statement,the annual holiday is in honour of the late illustrious son of the state,Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola,widely believed to have won the annulled June 12,1993 Presidential election,which marked a unique watershed in Nigeria's democracy.The statement read in part,''This year's celebration will feature the annual 'Democracy Walk',which will be led by the governor,starting from the June 12 Culture Centre,Kuto,Abeokuta at 7am.''The walk is expected to take participants through major roads in the state capital to the Abiola family homestead at...
