PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. LAGOS STATE GOVT RELAXED THE ONGOING CURFEW.{PHOTOS}.

  The Lagos State government has relaxed the ongoing curfew, following the violence recorded in various parts of the state. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made the announcement on Friday while briefing reporters at the Lagos House in Marina. “We have decided that we are going to be easing the curfew from tomorrow (Saturday) morning; and what that easing means is that people will be allowed to go out from 8am to 6pm. “For emphasis, from 8am tomorrow morning, you will be allowed to go out, to go wherever you wish till 6pm in the evening,” he said. The governor added, “We will look at the curfew on Saturday and Sunday and we will come back to you on what will happen in the days – Monday, Tuesday, and into the week.” He also gave an update on what the government was doing following the violence recorded in various parts of the state. Governor Sanwo-Olu, however, urged residents to the mindful of the barricades on the roads while driving, especially at night.

  Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has inaugurated a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate acts of brutality and violation of fundamental human rights perpetrated by operatives of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS) in the State. The commission which members were selected from Nigerian Bar Association, FIDA, youth, civil society, women and religious groups is expected to submit its report sixty days from the date of its first sitting. A statement issued late Thursday by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Alhaji Abdulwaheed Odusile in Abeokuta warned of dire consequences should anyone attack any of such facilities.
