APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

Image
Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda. The lawyers representing DR Congo said on Wednesday they w...

I SYMPATHIZE WITH THE CHAIRMAN OF THE TRIBUNAL-SARAKI.

Image
Senate President Bukola Saraki wrote on social media today that '' I sympathize with the Chairman of the Tribunal, Mr. Danladi Umar, for his travail in the hands of the EFCC which suddenly woke up 4 days to the resumption of this case to file criminal charges against him. You will recall that in April 2016, when our lawyers asked the tribunal chairman to recuse himself from our case, because of the criminal investigation against him, the EFCC swiftly cleared Mr. Umar of any wrongdoing. Now, I find it amusing, that in a dramatic turnaround,  this same EFCC now thinks that Mr. Umar has a case to answer just before the commencement of my case before him. What has changed since April 2016?. As much as many Nigerians want to continue to believe that this my case is merely about asset declaration irregularities, the maneuvers, manipulation, intrigues, schemes, and "House of Cards" nature of this whole case proves otherwise. I really wonder whether those who genui...

COAT & SHOE TO-MATCH+MY COMPLETE SUNDAY LOOK.{PHOTOS}.

Image
Am a lover of to-match,but I don't do it too much to irritate the eyes. You can match two to three items on you, either your shoe will match with your purse,or your coat will match with your skirt and purse or our necklace will match your earing and bracelet. On sunday I decided to flaunt my long jewellery on Sunday with a long turtle neck purple sleeveless gown, because of heat, and to avoid being called out in church for wearing sleeveless,I wore a black-lace coat, and I wore a black-lace shoe to match the coat with a black fur purse.Black coat and shoe was an obvious choice because of the black on the necklace, though I would have carried a gold purse but I just decided to carry a black purse to make my look well put together.More photos below.

Image
Wife of the governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, has expressed optimism that Female Genital Mutilation could be stamped out of Africa by 2030 if all individual and institutional stakeholders worked together towards achieving the objective. Speaking at a ceremony organised to mark this year’s International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Alausa, Ikeja, Mrs. A mbode noted that, although the practice was well entrenched in the continent, with some countries recording up to 90% prevalence among girls and women, the situation was not hopeless if the current advocacy was sustained or increased. According to her, “The pace of penetration of awareness seems slow because the practice is an ancient one, deeply rooted in our various cultures but that does not make our efforts fruitless. Though progress may be slow, we are going somewhere as rural women, mothers and young girls, are becoming aware of the severe health implicati...
