 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents.                  Queen Elizabeth Alexandra Mary,who was born on the 21st of April 1926,celebrated her 90th birthday yesterday thursday in Windsor.The streets of Windsor were packed with members of the public hoping to catch a glimpse of the Queen on her big birthday.The Queen was greeted by several rounds of Happy Birthday as she made her way around the historic town,one of which came as she cut her Birthday cake!.The picture above showed the Queen with Nadiya Hussain,winner of the Great British Bake Off,who baked a cake for her,during a walkabout close to Windsor Castle in Berkshire as she celebrates her 90th birthday.More photos below.

JUSTICE CHIBUEZE NNAMANI,WAS NOMINATED TODAY AS THE PRESIDENT OF THE ENUGU CUSTOMARY COURT OF APPEAL.

                                                   Justice Chibueze Nnamani,has been nominated as the President of the Enugu Customary Court of Appeal today by the Enugu State House of Assembly.The assembly made the confirmation in Enugu today friday after receiving a letter from Governor Ifeanyi Uguanyi,on the nominee's appointment.The Speaker of the house,Chief Edward Ubosi,read the letter from the governor and the members of the sixth assembly unanimously proceeded with the screening of the nominee.Leader of the assmbly,Ikechukwu Ezugwu,listed the qualification and work experience of the nominee after which he moved a motion for the house to allow the nominee take a bow and leave.The members supported Nnamani's nomination as the president of the customary Court of Appeal.Ezugwu described him as ''A hardworking lawyer'' who had over the years performed excellently in the Judiciary.

NIGERIAN ARMY RESCUED 3 WOMEN & 5 CHILDREN YESTERDAY,WHO TURNED OUT TO BE BOKO HARAM WIVES & CHILDREN.{PHOTOS}.

                In continuation of clearance operations of the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists,troops of 7 Division in Operation LAFIYA DOLE have been making tremendous progress in their various areas of operational responsibilities.They were able to carry out clearance operations,raids and patrols that resulted in the killing of so many suspected Boko Haram terrorists,arrests and rescue of persons,as well as recovery of arms and ammunitions.On thursday,21st April 2016,troops of 21 Brigade Nigerian Army carried out clearance operations at Bulari,Tori 1,2 and 3 during which they successfully cleared the general area of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists.During the operation,10 terrorists were killed and one was captured alives.The troops rescued 7 civilians and recovered a Volkswagen Golf car,15 bicycles and various bags of foodstuffs.The troops of 22 Bridage on the other hand intercepted 26 persons comprising mostly women and children,coming towards Adah village in Ngala Local Governm

EFCC AND CBN TO COLLABORATE ON ANTI-GRAFT WAR.

                 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC,is to collaborate with the Central Bank of Nigeria,CBN,to review laws of the Banking and other Financial Institutions Act,BOFIA,2004 to effectively tackle the emerging money laundering trends and other corrupt practices in the country.This was made known on Wednesday April 20,2016 by David Illoyanonmon,Head,North West Zonal Office of the EFCC during a courtezy call to the CBN,Kano Branch.Illoyanomon noted that ''At this point in time when the country is facing challenges in areas of fraudulent practices,the CBN remains pivotal in stabilizing the Nigerian economy through reviewing of some of its laws which due to emerging fraudulent practices have made them archaic''.In her remarks,the Kano branch controller,CBN,Ameena P. THE AUTOPSY OF MUSICIAN ''PRINCE'',WHO PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY,WILL BE DONE TODAY.

                According to sources,musician Prince,who was found collapsed in a lift near his music studio yesterday,and later died that same yesterday,a postmortem examination will take place today on his dead body to know the real cause of his death.He died at his home at Paisley Park at the age of 57.According to a transcript of a 9:43am emergency call released today friday,an unidentified male caller said he was dead and replied ''Yes,It's Prince'' when asked if he was with the person.Prince was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:07am,yesterday thursday.Though no details were immediately given for the cause of his death,though last week,according to another source,he was rushed to hospital apparently recovering from a bout of flu that had forced his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois.May his soul rest in peace,Amen.More photos below.
