 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba.          In what can be described as rare gift for the Christmas season, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday signed two Executive Orders, with one commuting death sentences of three convicted inmates to life imprisonment and the other setting free six others. The two Orders; Executive Commutation of Death Sentence Order and Executive Grant of Clemency Order were signed by the Governor on Christmas day and are both expected to take immediate effect.        EC-135 helicopter conducting surveillance along the Abuja-Lokoja Expressway. On 24 December 2019, aerial patrols were also conducted along the Lagos-Shagamu-Ore Road alongside personnel from the Lagos State Sector of the FRSC.       The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun says he does not understand why anyone would come up with the assertion that his mandate was stolen despite the fact that majority of the people in the State spoke through their votes for his emergence under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
