PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. INEC BEGINS VOTER REGISTER CLEAN-UP IN 3,624 POLLING UNITS IN DELTA.

     Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says that it has started the clean-up of the voter register so as to ensure credible, free and fair elections in 2019. The Administrative Secretary of INEC, Mrs Rose Oriaran-Anthony, said this on Tuesday at a news conference in Asaba. She said that the commission would display the preliminary Register of Voters (PRV) in all the 3,624 polling units of Delta between Nov. 6 and Nov. 12. Oriaran-Anthony said that the purpose of the display was to enable prospective voters, who had earlier registered, to make claims and objections where necessary. She, however, said that INEC officials would be stationed at the ward headquarters to address the claims and objections of prospective voters. She urged prospective voters across the state to check their names in the PRV to ensure that particulars such as names, ages and addresses, among others, were properly captured. OGUN DISBURSES N11.8 BILLION ON WORKERS WELFARE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Ogun State Government has commenced disbursement of 65 per cent of the last tranche of the Paris Club Refund to pay backlogs of cooperative deductions, gratuity, severance and furniture allowance of its workforce. This is 15 per cent above the threshold set by the Federal Government on the disbursement of Refund to workers. According to a press release by the State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Adewale Oshinowo, the State G overnment received the sum of N17.3 billion from the Federal Government, being its last tranche of the Paris Club Refund. "In line with the commitment of the Ibikunle Amosun Administration to the welfare of workers in the State, their payment is being made a priority. Therefore with immediate effect, the sum of N11.8 billion from the Refund will be expended on the workforce including the Local Government while the balance of N5.5 billion will go into social services for the benefit of the entire indigenes of the state," Oshinowo sa...

MAN ARRAIGNED,REMANDED IN PRISON CUSTODY TODAY IN LAGOS FOR N6.7M FRAUD.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 arraigned one Kayode Kikiowo before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on a five-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence, forgery and use of false documents to the tune of N6,740,000 (Six Million Seven Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira) only. The defendant was said to have presented himself as a registered Customs Clearing Agent to the complainant, Izegaegbe Ehikhueme and assured him that he could help him to clear his 40-feet container carrying vehicles for the sum of N5, 900,000. However, the defendant was said to have collected in all, the sum of N6,740,000 from the complainant. Investigations revealed that all the documents used to transact the business were forged by the defendant.        Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state has expressed the resolve of his administration to handsoff all commercial ventures of the state to professionals. Governor Fayemi, who spoke to newsmen during the continuation of his on-the -spot assessment tour of project sites in the state promised that his government would soon commence the repositioning of all abandoned and dilapidated projects in the state. He lamented the sorry state of virtually all legacy projects which are supposed to be the pride of all Ekiti people adding that all the projects were in full operation before he left office four years ago.
