PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. Bandits Kidnap Pastor, Five Others In Goni-Gora Community Kidnappers on Sunday night invaded the Goni-Gora community in Chikun Local government area of Kaduna State and kidnapped a pastor and five others. A resident in the community, Mr. Shuaibu Ekpa told DAILY POST that he heard the sound of a shooting from his deep sleep around 2:00 am in the morning. He said as soon as he woke up, he climbed the ceiling of his house until the shooting subsided. He said as the day brightened around 7:00 am and after headcounts within the community, it was found that a pastor of the Pentecostal Church and five other tenants within the community had been kidnapped. The wife of one of the kidnapped victims said she has not heard anything from the kidnappers since they were taken away. Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige did not pick up his call for inquiries and did not respond to text messages sent to him.

 Pensions: Abiodun increases quarterly payment to N1b Determined to offset the backlog of pensions and gratuities arrears in Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun has announced the increment of the quarterly payment of pension to N1b. Abiodun made this known while addressing pensioners at an interactive session held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, on Monday. The governor informed them that his administration met an arrears of over N80b and had since developed ways of defraying it. "When we came in, we met pension arrears of over N80b. We started paying N500m at a time. We later increased it to N600m monthly. If the previous government had been paying, we would not be where we are today. "I am expecting about N280bn from the federal government being the money we spent constructing federal roads. Alleged N754.8m Fraud: Court Adjourns Till March 24 for Adoption of Final Written Addresses in Ex-NIMASA D-G, Akpobolokemi’s No-case Submissions Justice R.I.B Adebiyi of the State High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, March 6, 2023, further adjourned till March 24, 2023 for the adoption of final written addresses in relation to the no-case submissions filed by both Patrick Akpobolokemi, a former Director-General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, and Ezekiel Bala Agaba, who are facing trial over an alleged N754.8 million fraud. Akpobolokemi and Agaba, who are alleged to have defrauded NIMASA, were initially charged alongside Governor Juan, Vincent Udoye, Ekene Nwakuche, Adegboyega Olopoenia and a company, Gama Marine Nigeria Ltd., before the charge was amended to involve only both of them. Nollywood Not Safe For Young Girls, Says Regina Daniels Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, has said that the movie industry is not a place for young girls and urge producers to discourage the act of employing minors. Daniels, who also doubles as a film producer, gave the advice on her Instagram page on Monday where she advised celebrities, and movie producers, to say no to child labour and keep the industry secure.  She said, "I met a 14-year-old girl wearing a short skirt, crop top and working under another young guy on the movie set who claims to be a make-up artist. Her parents are far away in Port Harcourt and she came to Lagos last year. She sleeps in different hotel rooms with whoever agrees to accommodate her every night and is not willing to go back to her parents. This girl told me that she is here to learn but trust me, I know the industry and it is not a safe place for young girls.” Watch the video below.

NAKONDE MAN BURNS HIS STEP SON TO DEATH BECAUSE HIS MOTHER COOKED BEANS INSTEAD OF MEAT A 25 year old man of Nakonde has burnt his two year old step son to death because his mother cooked beans instead of meat. The meat and beans was bought by the wife using her money and she made a meal time table and put meat on Sunday. Her husband who has never bought food for the family for the past one year, wanted to eat meat on Friday but was annoyed after he found beans in the plates. He decided to punish his wife by pouring hot water on his step son who was sleeping. The baby cried uncontrollably before fainting, 30 minutes later he died. He was put to rest today Sunday in Nakonde. So sad. May the Soul of the Innocent Boy Rest In Eternal Peace!

Islamic Cleric Sheikh Gumi Loses Mother Kaduna-based Islamic scholar and cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has announced the death of his mother. It was gathered that his mother died on Sunday around 5.30pm and preparations were in top gear to bury her at Unguwar Sarki Muslim cemetery in Kaduna. In a statement on his verified Facebook handle, the Islamic cleric said:“Inna lillahi WA inna ilaihi rajiun.Today (Sunday) at 5.30pm, with a sad heart, I announce the death of my dear mother. ”Please seek for Her Allah’s forgiveness and mercy. “Her last words to me two weeks ago: lnsha Allah, Allah will put her and her children and grandchildren together in Jannah”. ( By the special grace of God, God will put her and her children and grandchildren together in paradise).”
