APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda.         Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode  on Tuesday  unveiled a 46-feet statue of Nigeria’s symbol of democracy and adjudged winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential Election, Bashorun Moshood Kasimawo Olawale Abiola (MKO), expressing optimism that the monument will forever crystallize what he stood for in his lifetime. Governor Ambode, who spoke at the unveiling of the statue at the MKO Abiola Garden in Alapere, Ketu said it was in the tradition of the State Government to recognise and remember heroes and heroines who contributed to the greatness of the nation and the State in particular, adding that MKO Abiola deserves the best from the State as Lagos was his success story.         Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) and Police are responsible for electoral fraud in the country. He declared that if the two agencies play by the electoral rules, elections will be credible and peaceful. Speaking during a Courtesy Visit by the New Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr Obo Effanga on Tuesday at the Government House Port Harcourt , Governor Wike urged INEC to conduct credible polls in 2019.        Justice P I Ajoku of the Federal High Court, sitting in Benin City, Edo State, today Tuesday, June 12, 2018 convicted Lucky Ogada, aka Peter Lucas for offences bordering on fraudulent trick and attempting to obtain by false pretences. Ogada who was prosecuted by the Benin Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on December 9, 2017 in Benin, attempted to obtain money from one Fukuda when he represented himself as Pet er Lucas through his gmail account: randyhatchs@gmail.com.The offence is contrary to Section 421 of the Criminal Code Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, C39, 2004 and punishable under Section 510 of the same Act.Upon his arraignment on a one count charge, Ogada pleaded guilty to the offence.In view of his plea of guilt, the prosecution counsel, Larry Aso Peters, urged the court to convict and sentence the defendant accordingly.         A final year student of Ebonyi state University, Nnenna loveth Okpara has been paraded by the Ebonyi State Police Command in Abakaliki after she kidnapped a popular business man in Ebonyi state. According to reports, the lady who is studying social and anthropology at EBSU led her gang to kidnap the man.After 9 million naira was successfully transferred to her account, she shot the man 3 times and pushed the man inside the water hoping that the man will die.More details later.More photos below.

           In keeping with its promise to regularly update Lagosians about the activities of the Command, the Lagos State Police Command, wishes to inform members of the public that the Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal has dismissed the three police men, comprising of an inspector and two sergeants, who were alleged to have sprayed tear-gas on Mr. Ademuwagun Temitope Solomon which pro voked severe asthmatic crisis in him. The incident took place at Chinese town, Ojota area of Lagos state. The men whose names and service numbers are: (1) 220957 Inspector Momoh Sulaiman, (2) 429659 Sgt. Emmanuel Monday and (3) 434246 Sgt. Adamu Usman, were tried in an orderly room which commenced yesterday 09/06/2018 and were found guilty as charged. They were therefore dismissed and de-kitted accordingly. The makeup mogul shared a new selfie showing off her freckles while Stormi's face remained hidden from view.  When an Instagram user noted Kylie had "cut her baby out" of the photo, the new mom replied, "Yeah I cut my baby out.
