APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda. Although our correspondent could not have one ,one chat with the suspected cultists and assassins due the fact that our correspondent was not disposed; was  outside Awka, but According to Ezioka Community Security, the suspected cultists and assassins who are five in number  were on a mission to attack their target before they were arrested in their base ( a bush) inside Umudioka Village Awka. Earlier report: SCORPION SQUAD ARRESTS FIVE  BOYS ON ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT The Ezioka Community Security(Scorpion Squad) has apprehended five boys who are suspected to be cultists. According to a security source, the five men gang was plotting to launch attack at unknown group or person(s) before they were picked by the security.   The gang members were arrested inside Umudioka Village  Awka on intelligent gatherings.

Zulum Profiles IDPs for Return to Five LGAs  ...Returns to Dalwa for Re-opening of Farms  Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, on Sunday supervised the profiling of internally displaced persons for return to five local government areas (LGAs).  IDPs at the Gubio camp are mostly from Kukawa, Marte, Bama, Gwoza and Ngala LGAs. Many have been in camp for over seven years.  The Governor told the IDPs that those willing to return to their communities will be relocated soon. Customs Hands Over Suspect Arrested with $184,800, SAR1.7m To EFCC Area Comptroller in charge of Kano/Jigawa Command of the Nigeria Customs, Suleiman Pai Umar on Thursday July 1, 2021 handed over one Sabo Suleiman to the Kano Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.  The suspect was arrested in a joint operation on June 17, 2021 by the EFCC, Department of state Services, DSS and the Nigeria Customs Service at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport. He was nabbed when he came to claim an unaccompanied luggage which arrived aboard anEthiopian Air flight ET911 from Saudi Arabia through Addis Ababa.   Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a Nigerian woman based in Brazil, Mrs. Anita Ugochinyere Ogbonna, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA, Abuja, with 100 pellets of cocaine concealed in her private part and handbag.   NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, July 4, said the mother of three was arrested on arrival in Abuja via Qatar Air from Sao Paulo, Brazil through Doha on Friday night, July 2.   “The suspect was arrested on Friday night on arrival in Abuja via Qatar Air from Sao Paulo, Brazil through Doha.
