 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba.        Alhaji Aliyu Bako Maigida, the Makongijin Kwandare, Nasarawa State and the Sergeant At- Arms of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly is dead, Bako Maigida was also before his death a Per time Member, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Service Commission. He died today (Sunday) at Comprehensive Primary Healthcare kwandare, Lafia after a brief illness,,though a family source said he has been battling with prolonged diabetes. THREE ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN OGUN.[PHOTO].

      The Ogun state police command has arrested three members of an armed robbery syndicate. A statement from the command says the suspects were arrested on May 24 following a distress call received by the DPO Agbara division that armed robbers have invaded Idanyin community and have been raiding house to house dispossessing their victims of their belongings and inflicting injuries on them. . Upon the distress call, the DPO Agbara division SP Saleh Dahiru quickly led his anti-robbery team to the scene and met the robbers attacking the apartments of one Barrister Kamieyefa Omosivwe and that of Oluyemi Olajide. On sighting the police, the robbers launched an attack but were overpowered by the officers. Three members of the gang were eventually arrested with one injured, while one of them escaped. .      Today being 31/05/2020 at about 6:20am,a dark blue coloured BNW Car with Abuja Reg/No. KUJ 633 CQ reasonably suspected to have been stolen was abandoned by unknown persons at retreat junction, Nodu Okpuno Awka in Anambra State.Police operatives attached to B' Division recovered the Car to the Station.       Lagos State Government has said that the multi-billion Naira, 32 Metric-Ton-per hour Rice Mill at Imota will be delivered on or before the end of this year. The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Prince Gbolahan Lawal, who disclosed this recently at the Y2020 Ministerial Press Briefing organised to commemorate the one year anniversary of the State Government, explained that the Rice Mill has attained 80% completion level compared to 35% when the administration came in May last year. The Commissioner explained that the Mill, when operational, would ensure a steady supply of about 2.4 million freshly processed 50kg bags of rice per annum, in addition to over 250,000 jobs that would be created in both the upstream and downstream sectors of the Rice Value Chain. DOCTORS THREATEN STRIKE, ISSUE 14-DAY ULTIMATUM TO BUHARI GOVT.{PHOTO}.

      The Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has given a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to immediately implement agreements reached on the health sector or risk an indefinite strike. The ultimatum was issued by NARD in Bauchi at the end of its 2020 Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) . National President of NARD, Dr Sokomba Aliyu reading the communique issued at the end of the OGM, lamented the harassment and maltreatment of some of its members in Lagos, Kaduna States and the FCT in the cause of performing their professional activities. “We hereby give the government a 14 days ultimatum to meet all of our demands to avoid an indefinite and total strike by the Resident Doctors across the country,” he said.
