PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. SUPREME COURT IN INDIAN TO RULE ON END OF 'TRIPLE TALAQ' INSTANT DIVORCE.

              Five of India's most senior judges have started a hearing which could end up being a watershed in the way Muslim men relate to their wives.Muslim men in India are allowed to divorce through ''triple talaq''-a custom that involves saying the word talaq three times in succession.The divorce is instant and unilateral.It can be done by text ,fax,email,Facebook or Whatsapp.The provocation can be trivial,such as putting on weight,greying or burning the dinner.Last month,the husband of national level netball champion,Shumayala Javed,divorced her by uttering talaq because she gave birth to a baby girl.The All India Muslim Personal Law Board,opposes the abolition of the instant divorce.In its petition to the Supreme Court,the Board argues that if Muslim men are denied triple talaq,they might murder their wives to get rid of them.Implying that triple talaq was good for women,the Board said that if a man had to face the hassle of time-consuming...

                                      The Nigerian Customs Service Federal Operations Unit Zone C Owerri has continued to record resounding success in its anti smuggling operations in the Zone.The Zone for the month of April made fifteen seizures with duty paid value of N865,529,880.The Unit also recovered underpayments to the tune of N23,304,042.The Customs Area Controller,Comptroller Mohammed Uba who disclosed this in a press briefing in Owerri said that FOU Zone 'C' Owerri has a track record of success in its anti-smuggling operations and his officers have remained unflincj#hing in their resolve to bring smuggling in the area to its barest minimum.Comptroller Uba while further displaying some of the seizures deposited at the government warehouse in Benin Edo State noted that the seizures were made in Benin,Calabar,Enugu and Owerri axis of the Zone.He stated that the commodities seized are o...

              The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall have received an amazing welcome from the people of Ireland on the second day of  their Royal visit to Ireland.Their Royal Highnesses spent the day in Kikenny,meeting residents and stallholders at the local Farmers Market,and even trying their hand at hurling in the grounds of Kilkenny Castle!.Later that day Their Royal Highnesses visited Grennan Mill Craft School,and The Prince viewed the Emergency Medical Service Helicopter at the United Nations Training School Ireland.The Duchess ended the day at the Irish National Stud.Tomorrow,The Prince and The Duchess will spend a third and final day in Ireland visiting communities in Dublin.More photos below.

N864M FRAUD: COURT GRANTS EX-FCT MINISTER,BALA MOHAMMED,N500 MILLION BAIL TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

           Justice A.M.Talba of the Federal Capital Territory,FCT,High Court sitting in Gudu,Abuja,today friday,May 12,2017,graanted bail to a former minister of FCT,Bala Mohammed on a 6-count charge of abuse of office,false declaration of assets and fraud to the tune of N864million preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC.He was admitted to bail in the sum of  N500million with two sureties in like sum.One of the sureties must be a Senator and the other,a director in any of the federal government establishment.Both sureties must have landed properties in the FCT with Certificates of Occupancy and must have evidence of tax clearance in last one year.The defendant must deposit his international passport with the registrar of the court.Arraigned on Wednesday,May 10,Mohammed,while in office as minister,allegedly received N550million as bribe from the Aso Savings and loans Limited with respect to some properties in the Asok...
