PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. Another Veteran Actor Prince Ifeanyi Dike is dead. Dike was confirmed dead hours after Tinsel star Victor Olaotan was announced dead by his widow. The Lagos State Government may not sell forms to intending Pilgrims planning to embark on the Hajj 2022 Holy pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi, disclosed the development at a Press Conference organised to formally react to the cancellation of the year 2021 Hajj exercise for foreign pilgrims by the Saudi Arabian Government due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He explained that Lagos already has 3,016 intending pilgrims that have formally registered and fully paid their deposits for the already cancelled Y2020/2021 hajj exercises, pointing out that unless the Saudi Arabian Authority and National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) give the State additional slots, it might not be feasible selling forms for additional persons outside those already registered. Some Killings In Sokoto Are Not Being Reported — Sultan   The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has said there are ongoing killings in the state that are not reported. The monarch said this at the third Quarter 2021 Meeting of the Intra-Religious Council, held in Abuja on Thursday. The Sultan noted that the security situation in the country has deteriorated, and vowed to keep on speaking the truth to power. He said, “In Sokoto alone, there was a day we buried 76 people, they were killed in cold blood by criminals, people don’t hear about that one, there was a day we buried 48 people in the same Sokoto, but we don’t hear about that one. “All the people committing these atrocities must be identified, our security agencies must up their game, identify them, and take action on them, whether he is a religious leader or an ethnic leader.”

A yet-to-be identified helicopter has reportedly shot at a local passenger boat travelling from Port Harcourt to Bonny in Rivers State. There are fears of casualties, with some occupants severely injured and rushed to the hospital. An eye witnesses at the Bonny-Nembe waterside where the boat took off from in Port Harcourt, told newsmen that there were casualties. While expressing shock over the incident, he said that the boat conveyed passengers and foodstuff. “The local boat that just left here to Bonny, within the Treasure Island area, a chopper or I will call it a flight helicopter, just came behind, went very low and started shooting at the wooden boat. “From the information we got from a boat driver, there were passengers in the boat. Victor Olatoye Olaotan clocked 69 years on February 17, 2021. He battled with after-accident complications.
