 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. LAGOS TO LINK INNER ROADS TO SMART CITY PROJECT+SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS TO BE INSTALLED NEXT MONTH.{PHOTOS}.

EX-GOVERNOR OF ADAMAWA STATE NGILARI,GETS N1M BAIL,FOLLOWING HIS ARRAIGNMENT FOR RIGGING FEW DAYS AGO.{PHOTOS}.

                 Former Governor of Adamawa state,Mr James Balla Ngilari was yesterday granted bail by Justice Nathan Musa of the Adamawa State High Court,Yola in the sum of one million naira and a surety with landed property in Yola who must provide a court affidavit of means to that effect.Ngilari was remanded in the EFCC custody September 21 following his arraignment on nineteen count charge bordering an alleged rigging of procurement process in the award of contract worth one hundred and sixty-seven naira.The court has adjourned to October 10 for commencement of trial.Ngilari is being tried alongside his former secretary to the government and commissioner for finance and budget,Messrs Ibrahim Andrew Welye and Sanda Jonathan Lamurde respectively.One more photo below.

NIGERIA TROOPS REPEL BOKO HARAM ATTACK IN ABADAM YESTERDAY.

                            Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE Task Force Battle Group and Multinational Joint Task Force presently harbouring in Abadan village dealt decisively with elements of Boko Haram that attempted to attack on their location.The attack which was launched by the terrorist group at about 6:30 am yesterday thursday 22nd September 2016 and it lasted for about 2 hours.During the fierce battle,the troops killed 15 of the insurgents,with many escaping with gunshot wounds.Sadly however 2 soldiers paid the supreme price in action while 4 others were wounded in action.The bodies of our late colleagues and the wounded have since been evacuated.The gallant troops recovered weapons and ammunitions from the insurgents These includes,1 Gun truck,1 60mm Mortar tube,7 60mm Morter bomb,a General Purpose Machine {GPMG},3 damaged AK 47 Rifle,4 Bandoliers of Anti-Aircraft roundss of ammunition.The troops have continue...
