 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. SOME BOKO HARAM MEMBERS IN SAMBISA FOREST,ARE SURRENDERING WILLINGLY.

                 I just got a report from Vangaurd that some Boko Haram members have started surrendering willingly to the Nigerian troops following the offensive by ground troops and air strikes on Sambisa by the Nigerian Air force.Many of the terrorists were seen moving out of the Sambisa forest because they can't stand the heat from the Nigerian troops.A statement  by the acting Director of Public Relations,Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman noted that the action of the terrorists,meant to escape collateral damage,was due to the new offensive strategies put in place for operation Lafiya Dole by the military high command.

                    Today monday,a pressman from a newspaper based in Lagos Nigeria had a telephone with a pastor based in Ghana,identified as Pastor Paul,claimed he had a vision that the founder of Ovation Magazine Dele Momodu,should be installed as the next Ooni of Ife.The pastor warned that if Dele Momodu was not installed as Ooni of Ife there would be bloodshed in the country.He also added that his proclamation fro God.Though the pressman argued with the Pastor on phone that though Dele Momodu was born in Ife,but his origin is Gbongan in Edo state''.

74 SOLAR POWERED TRAFFIC LIGHT,TO BE INAUGURATED BY OSINBAJO IN FEW DAYS TIME.

                                          On the 18th of September 2015,74 solar powered traffic lights in the Federal Capital Territory will be inaugurated by the Vice President of Nigeria Yemi Osinbajo.Mr Ifeanyi Ughamadu,Head of Public Relations of the secretariat,made this known in an interview with the NAN today monday in Abuja.He said that the traffic lights to be inaugurated by the Vice President were donated by the Chinese Government.''Sometime in 2012,the Federal Government had this offer of assistance from the Chinese Government to construct and install 74 solar powered traffic lights.The traffic lights were to be installedin parts of Abuja as bilateral assistance at the cost of N830 million as part of their corporate social responsibility.The contract which began in March 2015,was executed by Messers Poly Solar Technologies Beijing Limited,and was completed in July,2015.Th...

               According to sources,the president of Algeria Abdelaziz Bouteflika dismissed the head of the country's military intelligence agency Mohamed Mediene yesterday sunday,in a move to curb the chief spy's political influence.The president replaced him immediately with General Athmane Tartag a specialist in war against armed groups and a serving security advisor to the president.Ex-chief spy Mohamed Mediene popularly known as Toufik is a powerful figure in the country having served the intelligence service for more than 20 years.The president has been restructuring the military and the intelligence service which has included sacking several top generals.Election observers have seen this as the president's last measures before the end of his 15 year reign.
