PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. Many injured as fire guts Polaris Bank, Savana foam showroom in Anambra Fire has gutted Polaris Bank Nnewi Branch destroying property worth millions of Naira. The fire which started at 12.30 pm destroyed part of the roof of the building housing the bank situated between First bank and AB Micro Finance Bank along Edo Ezemewi Road popularly known as Bank Road , Nnewi. Other properties of the bank destroyed included cables, ATM communications cables, air conditioners, part of the wall of the bank and louvers among others. The fire also destroyed completely Savana foam show room which shared common fence with the bank. The cause of the fire outbreak was not known at press time but some believed it was caused by electric fault inside the Savanna foam show room where it allegedly started. More than 5, 000 teachers to get employment letter in few days – Soludo Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has announced that in few days to come, more than 5000 teachers would be receiving their letter of employment. He made this announcement during an interview on Channels TV on Thursday. He said, “we would be handing out letters of employment to more than five thousand teachers in a bid to end the era of schools without teachers, we would also be having over 240 additional doctors to man the general hospitals, if you examine the five finger approach of our budget, the design we gave to our budget is to ensure that our eyes remains on the ball”. Gunmen Attack Bullion Van in Anambra Gunmen suspected to be robbers, on Thursday evening, attacked a bullion van in Ufuma, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra state.  A source confirmed that the bullion van was conveying cash to an undisclosed location when the gunmen trailed them to the agrarian community of Ufuma, and opened fire on the truck and security men accompanying it. “It happened at about 5pm today (Thursday), and there was heavy shooting in the area. “All the residents of the community fled, while security operatives attached to the bullion van battled the armed robbers. The police was able to stop them from succeeding,” the source said. Meanwhile, the State Police command has confirmed the incident. Spokesperson of the command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga said the event happened at about 4pm, but the armed men were eventually repelled. "Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.” Her Majesty The Queen Consort on the 10th of November 2022 morning, joined over a thousand veterans at the Field of Remembrance to pay tribute to the Fallen. Since 1928, the Field of Remembrance has been organised by The Poppy Factory and held in the grounds of Westminster Abbey to commemorate those who have lost their lives in the Armed Forces. Around 70,000 crosses and symbols are laid in 308 plots according to regiment, unit or association, planted by volunteers. This year, Her Majesty was invited to view a special plot in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. More photos below.
