PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. GOVERNOR WIKE CALLS ON NIGERIANS TO DISCOUNTENANCE EFCC'S ACT OF IMPUNITY.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has called on Nigerians to discountenance the illegal move by the Pro-APC Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to declare four officials of the State Government wanted. He further stated that the Rivers State Government will diligently fight the EFCC acts of impunity within the ambit of the constitution, noting that the State Government will not be cowed. In a statement on Wednesday, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu quoted the Rivers State Governor as saying that the illegal action of the EFCC is aimed at armtwisting the court and embarrassing the Rivers State Government.      The Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has expressed the readiness of the Commission to work closely with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, to check infractions militating against local content development in the Nigerian oil and gas sector. He made the promise on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 while playing host to the management of t he NCDMB led by its Executive Secretary, Simbi Wabote, at the new Head Office of the EFCC, Abuja.      Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the appointment of Dr. Olokoba Abdullahi Ayinla as the substantive Provost for the State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin. The appointment was disclosed in a statement released by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Abdullahi Alikinla on Tuesday. According to the commissioner, the appointment of Dr. Ayinla takes effect from Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He expressed confidence that given his qualifications and prior experience, Dr. Ayinla will transition well into his new position as the Provost and capably manage the affairs of the college. Prior to his appointment, the new Provost was the Deputy Provost, Administrative affairs of the college. It would be recalled that the College had in May, 2018 invited application from qualified candidates for the position.

       The Catholic Diocese of Orlu has been thrown into yet another mourning as its priest, Fr. Jude Egbom, was on Monday evening, shot dead by suspected hired assassins. Fr. Egbom, until his demise, was the priest of the St Patrick’s Parish Amucha in the Diocese of Orlu, Imo state.       The Federal Ministry of Transportation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Japan for cooperation in promoting quality Infrastructure investment and continuing cooperative relationship between Nigeria and Japan.
