During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. ZAMFARA: GUNMEN ATTACK MARU LGA  Armed men suspected to be bandits have killed six people and abducted one in Dansadau village of Maru local government area of Zamfara State. In an interview with some eye witnesses, the bandits invaded the town Tuesday while many people were observing their Zuhur Prayer, riding motorcycles in their large numbers and shooting sporadically .  According to them, the gunmen shot people along Dansadau motor park and main market were four people sustained serious injuries during the attack. According to them, four people who sustained injuries are receiving medical attention at Dansadau General hospital while six were killed instantly. Labour Party demands sack, probe of Tinubu’s minister The Labour Party has asked President Bola Tinubu to relieve the Minister of State for Labour, Nkiruka Onyejeocha, of her appointment over her alleged failure to concentrate on her job. The party equally urged security agencies to invite her for questioning over her alleged role in the contrived crisis within its ranks. National Youth Leader of the party, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu, made the demand on behalf of the party at a media parley in Abuja, on Wednesday. Ahanotu said, “We are therefore calling on the present government to relieve Onyejeocha of her ministerial role as she has lost focus, and she has refused to concentrate on the assignment given to her. The leadership of the Labour Party also drew the attention of Nigerians to what it called an “unholy alliance” between Onyejeocha and some of its expelled members led by Chief Lamidi Apapa, whose purpose is to ensure that crisis is sustained perpetually in the party.

Oyedepo's son leaves Living Faith Church to start his own ministry. Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, the second son of the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has resigned from his position as national youth pastor of the Youth Alive Fellowship (YAF), the youth arm of the church.  This was disclosed by Church Gist, a platform owned by Pastor Leke Beecroft, one of the pastoral assistants at the church’s headquarters in Ota.  Just last month, September 2023, Isaac was announced as the national youth pastor of YAF, taking over from Pastor David Nwabueze who was transferred to Nasarawa State.  Isaac is said to be planning to begin a new ministry independent of the Living Faith Church.  He was ordained as a Living Faith Church pastor by American preacher Kenneth Copeland in May 2007.  In a recent interview, he said his purpose in life was “to reclaim a generation and to ensure that this generation sees the fire God’s revival ...

Court sacks Redeemed Pastor Ghandi as Soun of Ogbomoso and orders fresh selection process. The Oyo State High Court sitting in Ogbomoso on Wednesday, Oct. 25, upturned the appointment of the new Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye.  Recall that the Oyo State Government announced Redeemend Pastor Ghandi Olaoye as the new Soun and made him king on 8th September 2023.  Before this time, one of the contestants, Kabir Laoye had sued Ghandi Olaoye, noting that he was not eligible to take Soun’s position.  The court ordered that the Oyo State government must not appoint anyone to the position, until after its judgement.

Senate swears in Yohanna to replace Elisha Abbo The Senate on Wednesday, Oct. 25, swore in Amos Yohanna as the new Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District. The swearing-in was performed by the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau, who presided over the plenary. Yohanna, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party replaces Abbo, who was sacked by the Appeal Court last week Monday.. At least 2,360 children killed by Israel in Gaza Strip – UNICEF UNICEF has said that 2,360 children have died in Israel’s counter attacks in the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas’ October 7 attacks on southern Israel. The aid group, which spoke of the “relentless attacks” said 5,364 children have been injured. Since the surprise Hamas attacks on October 7, Israel’s army have been bombing targets in the Gaza Strip and preparing a ground offensive in the sealed-off coastal area. “`The situation in the Gaza Strip is a growing stain on our collective conscience. The rate of death and injuries of children simply staggering,” said Adele Khodr, UNICEF regional director for the Middle East and North Africa. He said the Gaza Strip is suffering from acute water shortages, with severe consequences for children, who make up about 50 per cent of the population. UNICEF urged all parties to agree to a ceasefire, provide humanitarian access and release all hostages.

Zamfara Police Foils Attack On Emir In Zamfara, Police foiled an attack by suspected bandits at the Palace of Emir of Maru, Alhaji Abubakar Gado Maigari in Maru local government area.
