PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. COVID-19: OGUN BANS HIGH DENSITY GATHERINGS.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       Further to measures so far taken to ramp up its efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the Ogun State Government has found it expedient to announce the following additional measures: • Immediate ban of all high-densitygatherings that would bring together 50 or more persons in the same place, such as social clubs, halls, cinemas, night clubs, restaurants, cafes, and sport arenas. This measure will be in effect for the next 30 days in the first instance. A statement issued on Wednesday said this restriction has to be enforced without prejudice to people’s fundamental rights to association and movement, because safety of our people and their welfare are priorities that cannot be toyed with. CORONAVIRUS: LAGOS SUSPENDS RELIGIOUS GATHERINGS IN EXCESS OF 50 PEOPLE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Arising from the recent increase in the number of people testing positive to the Coronavirus disease in Nigeria, the Lagos State Government has placed a restriction on all religious gatherings with more than 50 persons. Speaking at an event convened for religious leaders, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi reiterated the State Government’s decision that all residents must avoid congregating in large numbers to avert an epidemic of the disease, noting that the measure was taken as a proactive step to protect the lives of Lagosians. Elegushi averred that the life of every resident is precious and the Government cannot afford a catastrophe in the area of health, considering the fact that the State has over 25million people. PMS PRICE ADJUSTMENT: READ NNPC NEW PRICES.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       In compliance with the directives of the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources on PMS pricing, the Corporation has reviewed its Ex-coastal, Ex-depot and NNPC Retail pump prices accordingly. 2. Effective 19th March 2020, NNPC Ex-Coastal price for PMS has been reviewed downwards from N117.6/litre to N99.44/litre while Ex-Depot price is reduced from N133.28/litre to N113.28/litre. 3. These reductions will therefore translate to N125/litre retail pump price. 4. Despite the obvious cost implication of this immediate adjustment to the Corporation, NNPC is delighted to effect this massive reduction of N20/litre for the benefit of all Nigerians. 5. EFCC SECURES CONVICTION OF YAHOO BOY.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Oji of the FCT, High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, convicted and sentenced one internet fraudster, Ken Odiase alias Phillip Iowell who was prosecuted by the Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Odiase aka Phillip Iowell who pleaded guilty was first arraigned on October 15, 2019 on a one count charge bordering on computer related fraud and obtaining money by false pre tense. Following plea of guilt, the court convicted and sentenced him to a one-month imprisonment with an option of a fine of N150,000 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) and ordered him to forfeit all the proceeds of crime to the Federal Government. Ken was amongst the fraudsters arrested by the anti-graft agency on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at No 5 Arbe-Saibra Dantata Estate, Kubwa, Abuja, following intelligence. Speaking during the operation, the General Manager of the Agency, Dr. Tajudeen Afolabi said the State government has declared zero tolerance for building collapse in Lagos State, as such the LS MTL is beaming its searchlight on moulding industries as part of efforts towards bringing an end to building collapse in the State.
