PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. FRAUD: COURT REFUSES TO VACATE BENCH WARRANT AGAINST EX-ENUGU GOV. NNAMANI.

          Justice Chuka Obiozor of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, January 19, 2018, refused a plea by a former governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani, to vacate the bench warrant issued against him over an alleged N5.3billion fraud.   Nnamani, his former aide, Sunday Anyaogu, and six companies was first arraigned in 2007 for allegedly conspiring to divert about N5.3bn from the cof fers of Enugu State.The case, which had been handled by no fewer than three judges, was in December 2017 transferred to Justice Obiozor, who fixed December 4, 2017 for the re-arraignment of the defendants.The judge, however, issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Nnamani and Anyaogu for their failure to appear in court at the last adjourned date.At today’s sitting, Justice Obiozor, in refusing Nnamani’s prayer moved by his lawyer, Rickey Tarfa, SAN, held that “The request for an order to discharge the bench warrant against the first defendant be...

GOVERNMENT PROPOSES FIVE YEAR JAIL TERM FOR ANY ONE HARBOURING KILLER HERDSMEN.{PHOTOS}.

            The Ekiti State governor Dr Ayodele Fayose has said Ekiti Government will soon pass a bill that would imprison any body found harbouring killers herdsmen in Ekiti to a five years jail term without option of bail. Governor Fayose made this assertion during a meeting with the members of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria and Orin community at the Osuntokun government house in Ado  Ekiti. Fayose said Ekiti State is known for peace and the state government would not allow any killing whatsoever in Ekiti land. He however said a committee would be set up that would comprise members from the state government and the communities that would be meeting at the various local government every month.       The Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports, on friday at Abuja, held an awards night for national athletes who won laurels for the country at international Championships held in 2017. The ceremony took place today Friday 19th January 2018 at the Package A of the National Stadium Abuja amidst pomp and pageantry. Three Nigerian Army Athletes a nd two coaches received awards for outstanding performances which were handed over to them by the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalong. The athletes were; Private Tochukwu Okeke who won a Bronze Medal at the Senior African Wrestling Championship held at Marrakech, Morocco in April 2017, Private Winnie Gofit, who won a Gold Medal at the African Judo Championship held at Dakar, Senegal in November 2017 and Lance Corporal Yetunde Odunuga, who won a Silver Medal at the African Boxing Championship held at Congo-Brazzaville in June 2017. ANAMBRA: MYSTERIOUS FIRE BURNS LADY+CONSUMES MULTI-MILLION NAIRA PROPERTY.

          One Miss Oluchukwu Okoro was on Wednesday burnt to ashes and multi-million properties destroyed, when a mysterious fire outbreak occurred at No 90 Iweka Road Awada Layout Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The scene of the fire incident became a “Mecca” of sort, as people from far and near trooped to the three-storey building, to catch a glimpse of incident. Eyewitness accounts have it that the fire outbreak was first noticed at about 6.00am around one of the last flour of the building, while children were preparing to go to school. However, the cause of the fire outbreak could not be ascertained, as at the time of filling this report. A tenant, who spoke off record, said the victim hails from Amator Isu in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and has just returned from a burial at Nnewi the previous day, before the incident occurred.        The swearing-in of Chief Victor Umeh on Thursday as the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District yesterday threw his constituents into jubilation. Jubilation broke at about midday, after Umeh was sworn in at 11am. As soon as the news of the swearing-in filtered into Awka the state capital city, members of his constituency, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) faithful, and Umeh’s well wishers went into jubilation. FILMMAKER, CHUKWUKA EMELIONWU AKA KASVID, DIES IN A FATAL MOTOR ROAD ACCIDENT.{PHOTOS]

       A Nollywood filmmaker, Chukwuka Emelionwu, popularly known as Kasvid, has died. Emelionwu, was reported to have been involved in a fatal accident along Oraukwu, on his way to his village in Anambra State on Wednesday. Reports say he, however, came out of the accident alive, but was knocked down by a hit and run driver, while attempting to cross to the other side of the road. Kasvid is famed for producing some of Nollywood biggest hit movies like Mr Ibu in London, Issakabba and Aki and Paw-Paw. He is also the owner of the famous Kas-Vid Pictures. Some of his colleagues have taken to social media to pay glowing tributes to the filmmaker.One more photo below.
