CABLE VANDALISM: SUSPECT CAUGHT IN ABIA COMMUNITY. (PHOTO).

Abia State Community Policing Vigilante has arrested an electric cable thief, simply identified as Samuel, while vandalizing power installations along Isi Court-Ikputu road in Isiala Ngwa area. While two out of the three thieves escaped with their operational tricycle, the leader of the syndicate identified as Samuel, from Ebonyi State was apprehended by the Community Policing Vigilante. The arrest of the suspect was made known by the Commander of Abia State Community Policing Vigilante in the area, K.C. Martins. Martins, who said that efforts have been intensified by his men to arrest the two fleeing members of the criminal gang, commended Governor Alex Otti’s administration’s determination protecting the lives and property of the people in the State. LAGOS TASKFORCE INTERCEPTS TRUCK WITH 123 MEN,48 BIKES.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Lagos State Environment Sanitation and Special Offenses Taskforce on Friday intercepted a truck laden with 48 motorcycles and 123 men coming from Jigawa State. The truck was seized, following a tip off by members of the public who raised security concern about the manner with which the occupants of the truck conducted themselves. After the interception, the truck and its occupants were moved to the office of the Taskforce in Oshodi for interrogation. Chairman of Lagos State Taskforce, Mr Yinka Egbeyemi, said the trailer was accosted in the wee hours on Friday, after a security alert from the public.       The Acting Chairman of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu says one the most wanted suspect by the Federal Bureau of investigation, Oyediran Joseph, has been arrested in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital for his roles in internet fraud.       At about 0830 this morning Friday 30 August 2019, along the Lagos -Ibadan Expressway around ISARA close to Ogere in Ogun State, a traffic crash involved two commercial buses that collided as a result of head on collision. A total of  30 people were involved made up of 19Male Adults, 9Females Adult,1Male Child and another ,1Female Child. The People  injured in the crash were 24 comprising 16Male Adults ,6Female Adults , 1Male Child and ,1Female Child. Unfortunately the crash led to the death of  6 people made up of 3Male Adults and ,3Female Adults. Two Vehicles were involved in the crash . FOUR SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE OFFICERS ARRESTED OVER GRUESOME MURDER OF NIGERIAN MAN 'PIUS EZEKWEM'.{PHOTO}.

       The South African government have arrested four police officers over the gruesome murder of a Nigerian businessman residing in their country, Pius Ezekwem. 46-year-old Pius who runs a chain of bread and breakfast guesthouses in the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa, was killed last weekend in front of his family members in his home by eight police officers. The police officers picked him up from a Nigerian eatery where he was hanging out with other Nigerians, forcefully took him to his home and afterwards shot him dead. Read initially story here. However, after a protest from the Nigerian government, four police officers have now been arrested and will be charged to court. TRIBUNAL DISMISSES SUIT CHALLENGING ELISHA ABBO'S ELECTION.

      The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Yola has dismissed the suit challenging the emergence of Elisha Abbo as the senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District. The suit was filed by Sen. Binta Masi of All Progressives Congress (APC) who lost the seat to Abbo during the February 23rd election. Delivering judgment in the petition today August 29th, the Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Sulaiman Akanbi, said that the petitioner could not provide any credible evidence to show that the election of Abbo was marred by over voting and other irregularities as alleged. “All said and done, the petitioner failed to prove his petition with convincing evidence. We consequently dismissed this petition,’’ the judge ruled. Reacting, counsel to Massi, Mr Yakubu Bello, said that his client would appeal the judgment.One more photo below.

      Two Suspected Internet fraudsters, Ochuko Okikifo, 24, and Kind ThankGod, 34, were on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 arrested in Sapele, Delta State by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office. The suspects were arrested in an early morning raid at their apartment in Sapele. Their arrest was triggered by information gathered by operatives of the Commission. Different types of cell phones were recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest. They have confessed to be involved in love scam. They will be charged to court soon.

The Coordinator of the organization, Nwonu Priscilla Chika, told her interrogators that t he club operates a collaborative contribution scheme, mostly transacted in cash on two class basis : first class and business class. Both attracts registration fees and monthly contribution of N3,000 and N25,000; and N2,000 and N12,500 respectively.         The Catholic Priest in charge of St.Peters Catholic Church,Kufai Amadu,Takum LGA of Taraba state, Rev Fr David Tanko has been burnt to death by unknown Gunmen while on his way with other clergymen to the venue for final resolution of the Lingering Communal Crisis Between the Tivs and Jukuns. The perpertrators of the dastardly act to have ambushed the priest and shot him severally before setting his corpse and car ablaze, as at the time of filing this report it was still unclear if it was armed robbery, kidnapping, or militia attack gone wrong.

      Imo state government has ordered a citizen’s arrest against Senator Rochas Okorocha, over alleged assault on a government official, Mr Jasper Ndubuaku. The Secretary to State Government (SSG), Uche Onyeaguocha, gave the order after the Chairman of the Recovery of Government Properties, Mr Jasper Ndubuaku, was allegedly assaulted at Okorocha’s residence. Onyeaguocha said that the state had also placed Okorocha on security watch and urged Imo citizens to arrest him and alert the government whenever they find him in the state. A video, trending online on Thursday, captured some thugs beating Ndubuaku at Okorocha’s residence on Spibatt Avenue, Owerri. This is happening barely 24 hours after traditional rulers in the state issued a stern warning to Okorocha against disrupting the activities of the recovery team.
