PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. FEMALE STUDENT OF FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OKO,WAS BEATEN BY HER ROOMMATE FOR EATING HER FOOD.{PHOTOS}.

     A female student of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra state have been battered by her roommate for eating her food. The incident which took  place at MIGU ROYAL HOSTEL, Amaokpala, saw the roommate allegedly beating her colleague with the help of some other students, as pepper was alleged to have also been used on the victim. Details were still sketchy, as the name of the student, level and relationship with her roommate could not be ascertained.More photos below.

NBA TO PARTNER WITH EFCC IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION.{PHOTOS}.

     Newly elected executive officers of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Benin Branch have promised to partner with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in the fight against graft. Chairman of the Association, Prince Collins Ogiegbaen stated this today, August 10, 2018 during a courtesy visit to the Benin Zonal Office of the Commission. Ogiegbaen who led other executive officers of the association on the visit disclosed that the courtesy visit was to appreciate the EFCC and to further strengthen the existing relationship between the anti-graft agency and the Benin Branch of the NBA. "We cherish the relationship we have with the EFCC and are here to further strengthen that relationship", he said. ORTOM CONDEMNS KATSINA-ALA ATTACK, VOWS TO DEFEAT MILITIA.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Governor Samuel Ortom urges communities in Sankera area of the state to assist security operatives with useful information to end the attacks on innocent people by armed militia. The Governor describes as unacceptable, the latest attack on Tse-Ujoh in Ikyurav-Tiev of Katsina-Ala local government area which left nine persons dead in the early hours of yesterday. He says troops have been deployed to the affected area to bring the situation under control and assures the people of Katsina-Ala that steps have been taken to prevent further attacks in the area.      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal office on Thursday 9 August, 2018 arraigned one Akomolehin Johnson Olusesan before Hon. Justice M. Abimbola, Chief Judge of the Oyo State High Court, sitting in Ibadan, on 21-count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretences, forgery and uttering. Akomolehin’s arraignment followed a petition to the EFCC from a petitioner (name withheld) alleging that the defendant appr oached him that he could secure him a Canadian visa, which he paid him the sum of N1,350,000.00 as installments through his bank account domiciled in one of the new generation banks (name withheld) and later gave him the sum of N450,000.00 cash. According to the petitioner, after payment the defendant gave him a Canadian visa which was discovered to be fake at the point of traveling to Canada and that all efforts made to get his money back proved abortive.        Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday urged everyone to take a common stand against sexual and gender-based violence by advocating for the review of our laws to provide stiffer punishments for offenders given the serious threat the evil act poses to safety and security of women and the girl-child.
