 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota.   Following the arrest of former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrashid Abdullahi Maina in Niamey, Niger Republic, the Nigeria Police Force is perfecting extradition processes of the fugitive to Nigeria to enable him face trial in pending criminal proceedings against him. Abdulrashid Maina, who was declared wanted by a court of competent jurisdiction, was arrested last night, 30th November, 2020 through the collaborative efforts of the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, INTERPOL NCB, Abuja and their Nigerien counterpart. He is currently in a detention facility in Niger Republic awaiting the completion of the extradition processes. COURT JAILS MEDICAL DOCTOR 14 YEARS FOR N5M FRAUD IN UYO.{PHOTO}.

  Justice Agatha Okeke of the Federal High Court, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Monday, November 30, 2020, committed one Dr. Bassey Goddy Usen to 14 years imprisonment without option of fine. Usen, a medical doctor and managing director, Ceephass Diagnostic Clinic/Surgery was prosecuted by the Uyo Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), on a two-count charge of obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N5 million. One of the charges read, "That you, Bassey Goddy Usen, the Managing Director of Ceephass Diagnostic Clinic/Surgery on or about the 18th April, 2017 in Uyo, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N2,000,000.00 (Two million naira) from one Edodiong Essien under the pretence that the money will be used to execute contracts awarded to you by Akwa Ibom State Hospital Management Board, Uyo; a pretence you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1 (1) (a) of the Advance

Justice T. B. Adegoke of the Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State today November 30, 2020 sentenced Onus Osagie Amahian, a former staff of Access Bank, to five years imprisonment. Amahian was prosecuted by the Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a 25-count charge bordering on forgery and making false entry into Delta State Government payroll. A former IT officer of Access Bank , the defendant was said to have between August and October 2011 fraudulently inserted names and account numbers of his family members and friends into the payroll schedule of Delta State government being handled by Access bank and subsequently paid monies into those Accounts and withdrew same and in the process defrauded the Bank of an aggregate sum of Nine Million, Three Hundred and Forty-Four Thousand, Nineteen Naira and Twenty Three Kobo (N 9, 344,019.23).   The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Solomon Bonu, has said that the performing troupe of the State Council for Arts and Culture will stage different plays to officially unveil the three theatres built by the State Government in Badagry, Igando and Epe areas of the State between December 4th and 19th 2020. A statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser revealed that the performances by the troupe have been scheduled to hold on the 4th and 5th of December in Badagry, 11th and 12th December in Epe and 18th and 19th December in Igando respectively. He listed the medley of dance and comedy-drama sketches to be staged at the three venues to include Ijuba Dance, Bata Mirror, Eleja Dance, Hausa Dance, Deaf Family, Igbo Dance, Bata Dance, Ponse Dance and Scoptorico, among others. 27-YEAR OLD MAN STABBED TO DEATH BY ARMED MEN IN DELTA AFTER HE WON N15M BET.{GRAPHIC PHOTOS}.

  A 27-year-old man identified as Prince Mieyebi was stabbed to death by three armed men in Warri, Delta State, after he reportedly won N15 million in a betting game. It was gathered that the young man was killed while closing a shop belonging to his Aunt at the popular Ogbe-Ijoh market in Warri South Local Government Area of the State on November 27. According to reports, the assailants fled with the deceased's mobile phone after stabbing him on various parts of his body. He died before he was rushed to a near-by hospital. An uncle to the deceased, Mr. Thomas Ogisi, who confirmed the murder on Saturday, claimed that the deceased had played the betting game a week before his death with all his predictions going through to the sum of N15 million.   By Faith Awa Maji, Lafia The suspected killer and the notorious kidnapper of the Nasarawa state chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) chief Philip Tatari Shekwo,Mohammed Usman has been arrested by the police. Governor Abdullahi Sule disclosed this Tuesday 1st December 2020 in Lafia at the job fair programme. According to Sule, the killer, Mohammed Usman was arrested at Asakio, Lafia East local government by the police operatives, and has since confessed to the crime of killing the APC state chairman.One more photo below.
