 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. COURT ORDERS FORFEITURE OF SEN. SARAKI'S BILLION NAIRA PROPERTIES.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday, December 2, 2019, ordered for interim forfeiture of the Ilorin residence of the the immediate past Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki. The Ilorin Zonal Office of the EFCC had approached the Court Presided over by Justice Ridwan Aikawa for an order of interim forfeiture of about one billion naira property located at 1, Abdulkadir street, G.R.A, Ilorin, Kw ara State on the grounds that it was acquired through the proceeds of unlawful activity. Ruling on the exparte application filed by EFCC Lawyer, Rotimi Oyedipo to Justice Aikawa ordered the interim forfeiture of the property and said the Court Order should be published in a National Newspapers.One more photo below.

      President Muhammadu Buhari says he has not given any date for the reopening of Nigeria’s land borders. Status quo remains until the situation that necessitated the closure improves. The President has also commended the actions taken by the President of Niger Republic, Muhammadou Youssoufou, including the dismissal of officials and a ban on use of the country as a dumping ground for Nigeria-bound smuggled goods.

      The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said the ongoing border drill in four of the country's six geo-political zones has drastically reduced incidents of cattle rustling, kidnapping, armed banditry and other forms of insecurity in the North-West. The Minister disclosed this at the Customs Border Station in Magama Jibia, Katsina State, on Monday when he led a Federal Government delegation on a visit to Sector Four (North-West) of the Border Drill, code-named 'Exercise Swift Response'. “The drill has drastically curtailed the inflow of arms and ammunition. Bandits and terrorists are finding it hard to procure arms and ammunition, hence we have recorded a reduction in cases of cattle rustling, kidnapping and armed banditry, which were predominant in the North-West Region,” he said. COURT DISMISSES PSC'S CASE,UPHOLDS IGP'S POWER TO RECRUIT.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday upheld the power of the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Council under the control of the Inspector-General of Police to recruit constables into the NPF. Justice Inyang Ekwo, in his judgment, dismissed the suit filed by the Police Service Commission to challenge the power of the NPF and the IGP, Mohammed Adamu, to carry out the ongoing exercise of recruiting 10,000 police constables. The judge held that the PSC’s case lacked merit. The judge held that the law guiding the enlistment of constables into the NPF was the Nigeria Police Regulations of 1968, issued by the Nigerian President in accordance with the provisions of Section 46 of the Police Act 1967 (No 41), providing for the organisation and administration of the police force. The judge noted that section 71 of the Nigeria Police Service Regulations gave the power to enlist constables to the Police Council under the control of the IGP and not the PSC. ...

ATTACK ON POLICE OFFICERS BY ARMED MEN SUSPECTED TO BE PROSCRIBED IPOB MEMBERS IN ORAIFITE.#PRESS RELEASE.

      On the 2/12/2019 at about 11:30 am,there was a formal complaint against One Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor 'm' (a member of the proscribed IPOB) in Oraifite on alleged case of abduction, assault occasioning harm and malicious damage to property. 2. Following the report, Police Patrol teams led by the Area Commander, Oraifite ACP Oliver Abbey mobilised and rushed to the scene in order to arrest the suspect who declined Police invitation. 3.        The EFCC has arraigned a business man, Sadiq Mustapha, 33, before Justice Mallong Peter of the Federal High Court, Kaduna. He was arraigned over a case of allegedly obtaining money by false pretences and operating a Bureau de Change without a valid licence from Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. Sadiq's trouble started when a petition was submitted to the Kaduna Zonal office of the Commission on February 26, 2019, by one Ab dulsalam Danlami Abubakar, that sometimes in 2016, the suspect lured him into transferring the sum of N6, 100, 000 (Six Million One Hundred Thousand Naira) in three separate transactions from his Zenith Bank Account into the suspect's company account: Abu-eleven Limited, with account number 4010185189 domicile in Fidelity Bank for exchange of Dollars at the rate of N305 per dollar. Based on that, he was to be credited with $20,000.00 immediately. After the complainant made the payment, the suspect allegedly refused to pay the Dollar equivalent....
