 Zamfara Governor’s Wife Facilitates Marriage for 100 Orphans, Offers Support to Grooms The wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has overseen the marriage of 100 orphaned girls in the state. The brides, who were well cared for prior to the ceremony, received full attention for their beautification. Each bride’s dowry, amounting to 151,000 Naira, was covered by the Governor’s wife. In addition, Huriyya Dauda Lawal provided essential household items, including furniture such as cushions, beds, wardrobes, mattresses, and kitchen utensils. Furthermore, she offered financial assistance of N50,000 to each groom to help them start their businesses and achieve self-sufficiency. Hajiya Lawal encouraged the brides to respect their husbands and practice patience. She also assured them that the Zakkat and Endowment Board would be available to offer support should any marital issues arise.

COURT GIVES EFCC NOD TO ARREST MOBIL NIGERIA MD.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  A Federal High Court, Abuja has given the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the nod to arrest Mr. Richard Laing, Managing Director, ExxonMobil Nigeria. Justice Okon Abang on Friday January 29, 2021 granted the Commission’s application for a Bench Warrant to arrest the managing director of the international oil company. The EFCC approached the Court for a Warrant after three invitations to Mr. Liang were rebuffed. The Commission is investigating alleged procurement fraud in the Major Integrity Pipelines Project involving Mobile Producing Nigeria as the contracting company, Suffolk Petroleum Services Limited as the main contractor, Saipem Contracting Nigeria, Global Offshore Limited and Van Ord as sub-contractor to SPSL. At issue, is the fraudulent creation of Change Orders worth over $213million USD.

  Kaduna State Government and Zipline have signed a service level agreement for the distribution of medical commodities in the state. Malam Nasir El-Rufai said the agreement builds on the state’s investments in primary health care and supply chain transformation in the health sector starting from 2015, KDSG has upgraded 255 PHCs and is recruiting 3000 officers to strengthen the sector. The state has installed a Pharmagrade warehouse, run by its health supplies agencies to ease the provision of medicines, consumables and vaccines to its health facilities. Zipline will add value to these KDSG initiatives by building distribution hubs in the state and using drones to deliver medical supplies

  Mariah Carey's sister Alison Carey is suing the singer for $1.25 million, claiming she intentionally caused her "emotional distress" and "public humiliation," according to documents obtained by E! News. In the lawsuit, Alison alleges she suffered from "horrific abuse" when Mariah wrote about their purportedly strained relationship in her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah. The Feb. 1 suit claims Alison was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression as a result of the memoir, which was published in September 2020. She takes issue with a chapter called "Dandelion Tea," which details an alleged incident from decades ago, when Alison was 20 and Mariah was 12 years old.   An 'upbeat and outgoing' 28-year-old took hanged himself after coronavirus lockdown loneliness sent him into depression while he was furloughed. Jamie Mathias, 28, who was a gas engineer, had secured one of his long-term goals and purchased his first home last February. The 'funny and charming' young man from Harlow, Essex, was set to have a good year and said he had everything he needs. But his mental health took a turn for the worse in March during the first lockdown which led to him taking his own life on December 8. His heartbroken sister Danielle, 32, is devastated and feels lost without her best friend. She said: 'We did everything together before lockdown.'We would go to the cinema, on holiday or out for meals. And if Jamie wasn't out with me, he was out with friends.'He was a social butterfly who loved being around people and making them laugh. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, secured the conviction of one Oluwatobi Damilola Aina before Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court, sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State. The 26-year-old who claimed to be a fashion enthusiast, was arrested on September 29, 2020, when the Commission got wind of his fraudulent activities and consequently charged to court on one-count charge bordering on impersonation. The charge reads, “Oluwatobi Damilola Aina, sometimes between the month of January and October 2020 at Ibadan within the Ibadan Judicial Division of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, falsely represented yourself as a female known as Namita Cooling”. He pleaded guilty to the charge. In view his plea, he was convicted and sentenced to four months in prison. The court also ordered him to restitute items recovered from him to the Federal Government of Nigeria through the EFCC.

LAGOS COURT SENTENCES MAN TO 25 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR DEFILEMENT.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  The Lagos State Sexual Offences Court, Ikeja, has sentenced one Nura Asumoge to 25 years imprisonment for the defilement of a 13-year old minor, after he had pleaded guilty to the one-count charge during his arraignment by the Lagos State Government. The Prosecuting Counsel, Mrs. Arinola Momoh-Ayonkanmbi, of the State Ministry Justice, stated that Nura Asumoge confessed to having sent the unsuspecting underaged victim on an errand on 3rd April 2018, and on her return the defendant forcefully had sexual intercourse with the victim, threatening her to refrain from informing anyone afterwards. Momoh-Ayokanmbi, therefore, urged the court to sentence the defendant accordingly having pleaded guilty to the charge, stressing that evidence presented before the Court by the prosecution also supported the allegation levelled against the defendant.
