 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. He reassured that the police would continue to work diligently to protect lives and property and pledged to leave no stone unturned in maintaining peace and stability in the state. BANDITS AMBUSH,KILL MONARCH IN ZAMFARA. (PHOTO).

Bandits ambush, kill monarch in Zamfara 11 December 2022 Armed bandits have killed the district head of Yankuzo, Alhaji Hamza Abdullahi Kogo of Tsafe Emirate in Zamfara State. Channels Television gathered that, the district head was attacked by the bandits on his way back to his community from an official engagement last Friday around 8pm. Sources from the area said the monarch was shot and wounded in an attempt to abduct him. He was rushed to the Federal Medical Center in Gusau, the state capital where he later died on Saturday night. Yankuzo is the hometown of the notorious bandit kingpin, Ado Aleru who was conferred with Traditional title in Yandoton Daji Emirate in July this year. Many residents of Yankuzo community said the community has never witnessed bandits’ attack since the inception of banditry within the state. Police authorities in the state are yet to comment on the latest incident.

ANAMBRA STATE HIGH COURT COMMENCES HEARING ON CHILDREN, SEXUAL OFFENCES CASES. Following the establishment of a specialized magistrate court for children, sexual and gender based violence offences in the state, the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, has approved the establishment of a high court for children, sexual and gender based violence offences in the state.  The establishment of the court follows request by the state Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo  The court designated "Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Court Holden" Awka is the first of its kind in the history of the state.  The high court will strictly try special offences that affect children or gender based violences such as rape, child defilement, gender based violent crimes and other related offenses. Depot NA on Saturday 10 December 2022 passed out 6226 Recruits of 83 Regular Recruit Intake to enhance the manpower requirements in tackling the country's myriad security challenges bedevilling the nation. Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour, the Chief Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya asserted that the professional disposition of these young soldiers was manifested in the realistic and results-oriented training that impacted them in their 5 months sojourn which was evident in the synchronized drill, impressive display, innovation, ingenuity, turn out, and perseverance of these young soldiers during the passing out ceremony.
