 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba.          President Muhammadu Buhari will depart Abuja Monday for Niamey, Niger Republic to participate in the Fifty-Seventh Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government. The one-day summit will deliberate on the Special Report on COVID-19 to be presented by President Buhari who was appointed the ECOWAS Champion on the Fight against COVID-19 during the Extraordinary Virtual Summit of ECOWAS on April 23, 2020. As a Champion, the Nigerian leader was expected to coordinate the sub-regional response against the pandemic.         *Recover the decomposed body of victim buried in a shallow grave* On the 5/9/2020 following intensive manhunt and actionable intelligence, police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) arrested the following syndicate, (i) Obasi Faith Ezinne 'f' aged 23 years of Mbaitolu Imo State, (ii) Ntomchukwu Anabaraonye 'm' aged 33 years of Okija and , (iii) Abuchi Obinna 'm' aged 26 years of Ihiala. 2. POPE FRANCIS SAYS GOSSIPING IS A 'WORSE PLAGUE ' THAN CORONAVIRUS.{PHOTO}.

          Pope Francis urged the faithful on Sunday to steer clear of gossip, calling it worse than the coronavirus and saying it could be used to divide the Roman Catholic Church. “Please, brothers and sisters, let’s make an effort not to gossip. Gossiping is a worse plague than COVID,” the pope said during his weekly address from a window above St. Peter’s Square. “The devil is the great gossip. He is always saying bad things about others because he is the liar who tries to split the Church,” Francis added in the off-the-cuff comments. The pope has regularly warned of the risks of gossiping and has also railed against Internet trolls. “If something goes wrong, offer silence and prayer for the brother or sister who make a mistake, but never gossip,” he said on Sunday.

To this end, the Ministry of Basic Education hereby releases the approved timetable for the completion of 2019/2020 Academic session, as well as the schedule for the State Examinations. YOUNG WOMAN STABS HER 24-YEAR OLD BOYFRIEND TO DEATH IN ABRAKA,DELTA STATE.{PHOTO}.

        The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old woman identified as Hope David for allegedly stabbing her lover, Justice Esiri, 24, to death. It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 1 pm on Thursday, September 3, in Abraka, Ethiope East council area of the state. According to reports, the lovers had a misunderstanding, which later led to a fight during which Hope stabbed Justice with a kitchen knife. The victim was reportedly rushed to the General Hospital, Abraka, but was confirmed dead by a doctor. Spokesperson for the command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the incident to The Nation, on Saturday, September 5, said the suspect is in police custody. The corpse has since been deposited at a mortuary.
