 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba.               The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,today wednesday May 17,2017,arraigned David Olayinka Olojede,Akingbade Latilo,Dr Gbadamosi Basiru,Oluwafemi Kujembola,Amobi Yunusa Akintola and Ogungbemi Olatokunbo before Justice M.A Onyetenu of the Federal High Court Osogbo on an Eight-count charge bordering on conspiracy and Money Laundering.The defendants however,pleaded not guilty to the charges.In view of their plea,prosecution counsel,Cosmos Ugwu prayed the court for a trial date and for the remand of the defendants in prison custody.He also informed the court that he was served a bail application this morningg and needs time to respond.However,counsels to the defendants informed the court of their bail applications dated 16th May,2017 and filed this morning and thereafter,prayed the court to allow them move same.Justice Onyetenu adjourned the case till May 20,2017 for hearing of the bail application.The defendants were former membe...

                                                   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,yesterday tuesday,May 16,2017 arraigned the duo of Buhari.Fannami and Bakuru Abdullahi on two separate one count charge before Justice M.T Salihu of the Federal High Court Maiduguri,for allegedly giving false information to the agency under the whistle blowing policy.Fannamit had misled the EFCC with the information about illegally acquired monies purportedly buried at the residence of one Ba'a Lawan but the information turned out to be false after the execution of a search warrant.The accused person pleaded not guilty to the charge.Counsel to the prosecution Alkassim Ja'afar asked for a trial date and prayed the court to remand the accused person in the prison custody pending trial.Justice Salihu adjourned the Matter to June 7 and 8,2017 for hearing and order...

A MAN ''EMMANUEL'' IS LEFT PERMANENTLY BLIND IN BOTH EYES AFTER ACID ATTACK IN OGBARU ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.

                      The young man pictured above simply identified as Emmanuel,has been left blinded in both eyes after a member of his community identified as Wike Ugonna allegedly attacked him with acid during a land dispute at their village in Atani in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra State on May 10th,2017.According to reports,Emmanuel's family had approached Wike's family to use a part of a land they use for farming in their community but the Wike's family turned down their request.This created a friction between both families.On the day of the attack,Emmanuel was said to be working on another person's farmland whenWike approached him and allegedly poured acid on him and also cut him with a machete.Wike is currently on the run.More photos below.
