 Atiku Meets Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Saturday paid a visit to former President Goodluck Jonathan at his residence in Abuja. The encounter is their first since Jonathan returned from an election observation mission in Guinea-Bissau. Sharing pictures of the meeting on his verified social media platforms on Sunday, Atiku wrote, “It was a pleasure catching up with former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday evening, following his recent return from Guinea-Bissau.” Jonathan, who served as President from 2010 to 2015, lost his re-election bid in 2015 to Muhammadu Buhari. The visit comes days after Atiku’s official defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), having resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party over claims that the party had strayed from the principles of its founding fathers. There are indications that Atiku may emerge as the ADC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. One more photo below.

                Pakistan Human Activist Malals Yousafzai said today after meeting with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan that ''Nigeria's president Goodluck Jonathan promised today monday that the missing Chibok girls kidnapped by Islamist militants would soon return home''.Malala who became a global celebrity after surviving being shot in the head by the Taliban for campaigning for girls education,was visiting Nigeria to support a international campaign for the release of the teenage students abducted in mid April by the Islamist insurgent group Boko Haram.She turned 17 on Saturday at the weekend,she met with the parents of the school girls snatched from the northeastern village of Chibok by Boko Haram fighters.

           Nadine Gordimer,a South African Author and 1991 Nobel prize winner who became one of the most powerful voices against the injustice of apartheid,has died at the age of 90.She past away peacefully at her Johanesburg home on sunday.A representative of her family said ''She cared most deeply about South Africa,its culture,its people and its on going struggle to realize its new Democracy''.May her soul rest in peace,amen.
