PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. NDLEA intercepts 1.9million tablets of Tramadol, Codeine at Lagos airport . Arrests drug kingpin behind Ghana-bound 11.913kg Cocaine Operatives of the National Drug Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have seized over 1.9 million tablets of Tramadol and Codeine imported into the country from Pakistan and United Kingdom through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja Lagos. Of the total seizures, 40 cartons of Co-Codamol, a brand of paracetamol with Codeine, which is classified as Opioid, were seized from a freight agent, Eraikhueme Ehis. The seizure made on Thursday March 10 translates to 349, 800 tablets weighing 336kg. The consignment came from London, UK as a consolidated cargo through the SAHCO Import Shed of the airport. The consolidated cargo was declared as personal effects but was discovered to contain some medicaments.  In the same vein, no less than 1, 584,000 tablets of Tramadol were recovered on Tuesday 15th March by NDLEA operatives in collaboration with Aviatio...

Court Jails Micheal Jackson for Internet Fraud In Lagos  The Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC, has secured the conviction and sentencing of an internet fraudster, Michael Jackson, a.k.a. Ella-Ellywood, before Justice Tijani G.Ringim of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos.   Justice Ringim sentenced the convict to three months imprisonment on March 21, 2022 who was arraigned on a one-count charge bordering on impersonation contrary to and punishable under Section 22(2)(b) Of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act 2015. He pleaded guilty to the offence.

Court Jails Fake Lawyer in Lagos The Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC on March 23, 2022 secured the conviction of one Emmanuel Adekeye Adekola before Justice Sherifat Solebo of a Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos for offence bordering on impersonation. Operatives of the EFCC had on January 11, 2022 arrested him when he came to the Lagos Command of the Commission posing as a lawyer to secure the bail of a suspected fraudster who was in the Commission’s custody. Nemesis caught up with him, when investigators dug in further to verify the documents he tendered to secure the bail.

Enugwu-Ukwu Community Flags Off Farming Season, Holds Exhibition Enugwu-Ukwu Community, in Njikoka Local Government Area, has kicked off its 2022 farming season with exhibition of farm inputs. The event, held at Obu Umunri Enugwu-Ukwu, has become an annual affair that looks at the year gone-by and prepares people of the community for the year's agricultural engagements. The exhibition arena looked more like a harvest field, as farm produce including yam, cocoyam, vegetables, plantain, cassava stick, among numerous others caught the eyes. The traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpeh, joined by his Umuawulu counterpart, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, members of his cabinet and other dignitaries, graced the occasion, which also aims at encouraging both the young and the old in Engwu-Ukwu to go into agriculture.
