PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.        Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos has convicted and sentenced the duo of Chukwuma David Chinaka and Quincy Peter Patrick, who were prosecuted for $997,400 USD fraud, to one year imprisonment each. The convicts were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a two-count charge bordering on transfer of criminal proceeds to a nominee to th e tune of $997,400 USD, contrary to the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State, 2011. Count one reads: “That you, Chukwuma David Chinaka, Quincy Peter Patrick, Emeka Clinton Ezenwa (still at large) and Chikezie Okoro ( still at large) sometime in 2017, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, retained in your control, the aggregate sum of $997,400 USD( Nine Hundred and Ninety- seven Thousand, Four Hundred United States Dollars) being proceeds of criminal conduct on behalf of Chukwuma David Chinaka and others at large.” The defendants plea...

The Duke and Duchess visited one of Wales’ busiest Lifeboat Stations, The Mumbles RNLI. Lifeboat crews at The Mumbles have been saving lives for over 180 years and have been presented with 33 awards for gallantry. The Royal Family have long supported RNLI. The Queen has been Patron since 1952, the year of her Accession and The Duke of Kent has held the position of President since 1969. The Duke and Duchess met volunteers, many of whom are available 24/7 to help saves lives at sea. It was time for a tasty treat  🍦  at Joes Ice cream Parlour. US President Donald Trump is surely going to be the Republican party flag bearer in the upcoming 2020 presidential election after smashing the very important Iowa caucuses on Monday night. While Democrats fought a high-profile battle to win the Democratic poll which resulted in a fiasco after the voting app crashed, Republicans showed they were far more united in their choice for president as Trump got 97.09 Trump got 97.09% of the vote, and neither of his competitors reached the 2% mark, with his two opponents, Bill Weld and Joe Walsh getting just 1.5 and 1.4%.      Tuesday, 04 February 2020 The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna State, Rev. John Hayab, says the bombing suspect arrested while attempting to blow up a Winners’ Chapel Parish in Kaduna State on Sunday identified himself as Mohammed Sani when he was apprehended by the church. Hayab claimed after the church handed him over to the police, the suspect’s name suddenly changed to Samuel Nathaniel. He, therefore, said there was a need for the matter to be thoroughly investigated. The CAN chairman said this during an interview with The PUNCH on Monday. CUSTOMS IMPOUNDS $8.1M AT LAGOS AIRPORT.{PHOTOS}.

      Officials of the Nigeria Customs Service attached to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, have impounded the sum of $8,065,612m about to be illegally ferried out of the country through one of the international airlines. The service said that the sum was discovered in 20 wraps inside a coaster bus at the tarmac of the airport on January 16, 2020 at the E-Wing of the airport.   Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Col Hameed Ali (retd), said that the money laundering was discovered through intelligence put in place by the command at the airport. Ali told journalists at the Federal Operating Unit of Customs on Tuesday that the lump sum was loaded in six bags with one suspect arrested in connection with it.       Lagos State Government has formally kicked off commercial waterways transportation, with the official launch of eight newly acquired speed boats by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday. Sanwo-Olu unveiled the speed boats, which will be operated by the Lagos Ferry Services (LAGFERRY), at a ceremony held at Badore Ferry Terminal in Eti-Osa Local Government Area. The event marked the commencement of commercial operations in waterways transportation by LAGFERRY. The Governor also launched a mobile application designed to facilitate easy access to the water transportation services. Sanwo-Olu said the intervention represented a “great leap” in his administration’s strategy to deliver an effective and integrated inter-modal transportation system in addressing the perennial issue of traffic congestion on the roads.         Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt Zonal Office have arrested a suspected internet fraud kingpin, Onwuzuruike Kingsley Ikenna (a.k.a Nwanta Anayoeze Yonaracha). The suspect was arrested in his residence on Uzuakoli Road by Umuada Junction, Umuahia, Abia State on January 26, 2020, following intelligence on his alleged fraudulent internet activities. Ikenna's specialty is Business Email Compromise (BEC) and identity fraud. His victims allegedly include a major United States bank. Properties linked to the suspects include a mansion with swimming pool, a petrol station and nine units of three bedroom apartments, all in Umuahia and a palatial bungalow in his village.More photos below.

        Yesterday, Two police officers have died after their car crashed while they were chasing a commercial vehicle. According to reports, the officers, who were driving an official police car, chased after a Sienna carrying passengers along the Ogoni/Akwa Ibom road.
