PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. FAAC: KWARA GOVT RELEASES DETAILS OF AUGUST ALLOCATION.

          The Kwara State government has released its federal allocation figures for the month of August, 2017. In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said that the State government got a total of N2, 539, 578, 771.7 as allocation for August, against the N3, 669, 988, 263.89 it received in July. Banu disclosed that the sum was made up of a statutory allocation of N1, 777, 655, 814.85 and Value Added Tax (VAT) of N761, 922, 956.83. The Commissioner also announced that the 16 local governments (LGs) in the State received a total of N1, 857, 345, 628.1 as allocation for August. This is against the N2, 600, 159, 007.12 they received last month. Giving a breakdown of the figures, Banu revealed that the LGs got a statutory allocation of N1, 424, 951, 058.78 and Value Added Tax (VAT) of N432, 394, 623.32, making a total of N1, 857, 345, 682.1.

ACTRESS EUCHARIA ANUNOBI'S SON DIES AT THE AGE OF 15.{PHOTOS}.

            The 15-year old son of Nollywood actress and Evangelist, Eucharia Anunobi, Raymond Ekwu, has died. Raymond whom she had by her ex-husband, Charles Ekwu, in 2002, has been with Sickle Cell Anemia from birth. He died from complications associated with the disease on tuesday, August 22st.The Actress also confirmed the news by saying  ‘Thank you, I appreciate it, ‘ she told our correspondent. ‘My son has gone to our place of origin (heaven) to be with our daddy Jesus, waiting for me when I eventually go there at the fullness of time.’   On what led to his death, she said: ‘Common, common’, she said, ‘God knows best. ‘ One more below.

             Wife of the Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, has lauded the contributions of women lawyers towards the improvements recorded in child and women rights in the State, country and continent. She gave the commendation at the African Women Lawyers Association parley, held at Victoria Island, Lagos, where she was also decorated as Matron and Mother of the African Child as part of activities to mark the annual general meeting of the Nigerian Bar Association. Mrs. Ambode said children and women in Nigeria and Africa faced a brighter future because of steady progress recorded in the area of their rights. She recalled that Lagos State was the first to pass the Child Rights Law, following the footprints of the Federal Government, adding that the State had also passed a law against domestic violence. LAGOS ENFORCES THE USE OF EKO REFRIGERATED MEAT VANS IN APPROVED ABATTOIRS TODAY.

         The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force today commenced the enforcement of the use of 'EKO Refrigerated Meat Vans' as the only authorised means of carrying processed meat in a hygienic way from approved slaughter houses and abattoirs to designated meat markets within the State. Deputy Superintendent of Police and Acting Chairman of the Agency, Mr. Wilson Alaba, who led the enforcement operations at Ok o-Oba Abattoir Markets, Agege, disclosed that many motorcycles, rickety vehicles and other unauthorised means of carrying processed meat were dislodged within the market. He disclosed further that the enforcement operations became necessary to ensure that the reformation of the Red Meat and Meat Hygiene Law is enforced and that the meat consumed in Lagos is processed and transported in a wholesome and clean manner.                The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has expressed his sympathy for the victims and families of those who were involved in the auto crash that claimed nine lives  on Tuesday , along Upper Sokponba Road in Benin City, Edo State.
