 Wizkid, Rema, Tems, Asake, Tyla Nominated for Favourite Afrobeats Artist at 2025 AMAs The 51st edition of the American Music Awards (AMAs) is set to return with a strong African presence, as Nigerian stars Wizkid, Rema, Tems, and Asake secure nominations in the Favourite Afrobeats Artist category. Joining them is South African Grammy winner Tyla, whose meteoric rise over the past two years has established her as a global force in African music. The category, launched in 2022, was first won by Wizkid, marking a historic moment that highlighted Afrobeats' growing international impact.

THE NIGERIAN MILITARY,DETAINED TWO AL-JAZEERA JOURNALIST,SINCE TUESDAY.

                  According to the Al Jazeera news network,they said two of their journalist covering the upcoming Nigerian Presidential elections have been detained by government forces in Maiduguri,Borno state.The two journalist were identified as Ahmed Idris and Ali Mustafa,both Nigerian Nationals,remain confined in their hotel rooms and their equipment confiscated after being questioned by the military officials on tuesday.The Nigeria military said that the journalist were operating without ''Protection,accreditation or due clearance'',and confirmed that the two journalists will remain officially detained until further notice.The two journalists were detained while reporting on the Nigerian forces fighting armed group Boko Haram as part of Al Jazeera's special coverage on the upcoming elections.Al Jazeera has demanded the release of two of its journalists.Al Jazeera spokesman said in a statement yesterday wednesday that ''We call on the N...
