 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. A DAALO AIR-PLANE,CAUGHT FIRE TODAY MID-AIR AFTER TAKE OFF FROM MOGADISHU SOMALIA AIRPORT.

                            According to Daalo Airlines representative Abdinasir Nur said that a Somali plane returned to Mogadishu airport today tuesday after catching fire.Two of the 74 people on board were injured,one of them seriously.A passenger Halimo Omar said,''The aircraft en route from Mogadishu to Djibouti was in the air for about 20 minutes..when we heard a loud explosion inside the plane,followed by flames that lit up one side of it.The plane returned to the airport and made an emergency landing''.An investigation was launched into the incident,which Nur tentatively attributed to a technical problem''.More photos below.

                      According to the Comptroller-General of` Immigration,Martins Kure Abeshi has said that the six Britons arrested last saturday for violating Nigerian Immigration Laws are to be deported.Abeshi,who made the revelation today tuesday before the House of Rrepresentatives Committee on interior headed by Hon.Jagaba Adams Jagaba said the expatriates have breached Nigeria's immigration laws and would therefore be deported.Part VIII,Section 56 {1-7};58;59; and 60 {1-5} of the Immigration Act,2025 which provides for the immigration offences and penalties,stipulates a term of imprisonment 10 years or fine of N2 million..While reacting to questions concerniing the Britons from Hon.Sunday Katung,representing zango Ktaf Federal Constituency in Kaduna State,the NIS boss said ''I just arrived from abroad mnday and this case.As i'm talking,yesterday in the evening,the company that employed those expatriates,after my discussion with them,they are to be responsible fo

                                    The zika virus linked to a microcephaly outbreak in Latin America could spread to Africa and Asia,with the world's highest birth rates,the World Health Organization warned as it launched a global response unit against the new emergency.WHO on monday declared an international public health emergency due to zika's link to thousands of recent birth defect in Brazil.Anthony Costello,WHO director for maternal,child and adolescent health said today in a conference in Geneva that ''We've now set up a global response unit which brings together all people across WHO,in headquarters,in the regions,to deal with a formal response using all the lessons we've learned from the Ebola crisis.The reason it's a global concern is that we are worried that this could also spread back to other areas of the world where the population may not be immune.And we know that the mosquitos that carry zika virus-if that association is confirmed-are presen

A LAWYER & OTHERS,ARRAIGNED FOR WRONGFUL DEMOLITION OF A BUILDING IN JAKANDE ESTATE,EJIGBO LAGOS.

                  65 year old legal practitional,Barrister Olu Johnson,has been arrested and charged before Ejigbo Magistrate court for his alleged involvement in the demolition of a building in Lagos state,as seen in the picture above.Johnson was arraigned with four other suspects and was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri,Lagos along with the other four suspects the police alleged Johnson conspired with to commit the crime.They are 68 years old  Samuel Ayantuga,70 year old Sunday Akinbode,30 year old Olumuyiwa Akinbode and a female 51 year old Mrs Abimola Adeolu.They are charged with conspiracy,unlawful and willful damage and assault under the Criminal Code.The suspects allegedly went to Block 328 flat 2 ,Jakande Estate in Ejigbo and demolished a building belonging to Sunday Ayodeji.It was gathered that the suspects are members of Methodist Church located in the area where the incident happened.According to the police,the suspects reportedly demolished the building to take posses
