PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.        The EFCC, Lagos office, today, November 13, 2019, arraigned one John Isang and his son, Martins John Isang before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja on an amended two-count charge bordering on conspiracy to obtain and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of $108, 000 (One Hundred and Eight Thousand United States Dollars) belonging to one Ikechukwu Eze. . . The duo allegedly obtained the said sum from the victim under the pretence of having a vessel for hire to transport Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) outside the country.More photos below.

      The Lagos State Safety Commission has dissociated itself from the activities of dubious individuals and groups parading themselves as staff of the Commission in an attempt to deceive and scam unsuspecting members of the public. According to a statement issued by the Director-General of the Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola, some criminally minded persons have branded their vehicles with the colours of the Commi ssion, forged its official letterhead, Abatement notices, and adorn outfits similar to those of its officials in a bid to swindle unsuspecting members of the public. While decrying the activities of these set of unscrupulous members of the public, Mojola advised members of the public to disregard any purported summons, abatement notices and seal orders from unauthorised persons.      Representatives of Lagos State Government, in conjunction with the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Engr. Adedamola Kuti, today assured Lagosians that the rehabilitation work on failed portions of both sides of Eko bridge has commenced at the Apongbon end. The joint press conference presided over by the trio of Engr. Adedamola Kuti, the Special Adviser, Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Aramide Adeyoye and the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Fredric Oladeinde, assured residents that the rehabilitation works on the bridge will be completed by December 14, 2019, with minimal effect on the traffic situation along the route. Kuti allayed the fears of residents that the Eko Bridge would be shut down as a result of the ongoing rehabilitation work, noting that repairs will involve the replacement of the flexible pavement, along 150 meters failed portion, with rigid concrete to halt the incessant failure of the affected stretch of the road.       The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has led a delegation of senior Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officers on a visit to India to seek for avenues to strengthen strategic partnerships for capacity building and Research and Development (R&D) with a view to further boosting the NAF’s operational effectiveness in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality in the country. The visit, which   is holding from 11 - 14 November 2019, is at the instance of the Indian Government through an invitation extended by the CAS of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Singh Bhadauria. NIGERIAN MAN LOCKS UP SISTER FOR 2-YEARS IN KADUNA.{PHOTO}.

      Wednesday, November 13, 2019 1:57 am A Nigerian woman who was locked up in a dark room at her family residence for two years, has regained her freedom. Hassana Sale, mother of four was locked up by her brother to prevent her from rejoining her estranged husband. Kaduna based NGO, Arida Relief Foundation and a team of policemen found her in a “terrible state” locked up in the room in Rigasa area of Kaduna. According to the founder of the NGO, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, the victim, Hassana, was deprived of her freedom by her elder brother, one Malam Lawal Sale over her intention to go back to her matrimonial home. Salisu explained that the woman became depressed when she was divorced by her husband, but due to the love for the children, visited them daily. “She visits the children on daily basis, so the elder brother and the some of her relatives decided to lock her up in a dark room for two years so that she will not go back to her ex-husband,” she told the Ne...

       The EFCC has secured the conviction of one Mukhtar Bello. He was convicted before Justice M.T Tukur of Kaduna State High Court on a three count charge bordering on impersonation and Obtaining by False pretence. It would be recalled that on November 1, 2019, the Commission arrested Bello, 43, a 1999 graduate from the University of Tampa Florida, for impersonating EFCC officials.
