 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. He reassured that the police would continue to work diligently to protect lives and property and pledged to leave no stone unturned in maintaining peace and stability in the state.                           Today tuesday i decided to shop around my area in Lagos and i noticed that in every major there is a cage put out at every estate gate and guess what they are selling life chicken.Is a kind of good thing because i thought Nigerians have abandoned agriculture but before i congratulate all those breeding these chickens,where were the chickens kept before they started selling them and how healthy are these chickens?.Why i am asking is that alot of bird diseases have caused outbreak in the past leading to loss of lives,so what are the authorities doing about these sudden outbreak of private owned poultry's and the health hazards that comes with it?.A routine check of the state of the chickens should be done by the Nigeria government.One more photo below.                                           ...

                     According to the Nation Newspaper who reported that in a statement today tuesday issued by PDP National Publicity Secretary,Chief Olisa Metuh,the PDP accused the government of trying to use bogus welfare programme and phatom capital projects as cover and coduit to syphon the funds to satisfy partisan interests,particularly to settle huge campaign debts.The statement said ''It is obvious that this budget is an extension of the campaign promises of the APC government,presented of the APC government,presented as a manifesto filled with bogus promises which implementation will be inconclusive,thereby allowing the APC to once again deny their promises.There has never been any known economy in the world where government deliberately mortgage the future of its nation by borrowing excessively to finance partisan interests while hiding under bogus welfare programmes.This is more so important as the APC in reeling out the...

                Today tuesday,Ghana President,John Mahama has banned public officials from first class air travel in a renewed effort to cut wasteful spending as the West African nation implements an IMF aid deal to revive state finances.According to Communications Minister Edward Omane Boamah who spoke with pressmen today said the presidency issued the directive this week asking all ministers and other top officials to avoid ''unwarranted'' foreign trips on the public purse.Ghana Finance Minister Seth Terkper told pressmen today tuesday that the cabinet is also discussing a financial accountability bill which would impose penalties such as dismissal or jail time for public officials who are found to violate it.''It is expected to be clear enough to enable the general public to see malfeasance if there is {any} and hold the agency involved accountable''.

BURKINA FASO ISSUED AN INTERNATIONAL WARRANT AGAINST EX-EXILED LEADER BLAISE COMPAORE.

                          It was reported today that Burkina Faso has issued an international warrant for ousted leader Blaise Compaore for his suspected role in the 1987 kiling of his former comrade,ex-president Thomas Sankara.According to a source,who spoke on condition of anonymity,told AFP that Compaore who is living in exil in the Ivory Coast,had been charged with an  ''attack'' and ''assassination''.Compaore was toppled from power by a popular uprising in October 2014 after ruling Burkina Faso with an iron fist for 27 years.Sankara,a revolutionary figure who is still a hero to many in West Africa,was killed on October 15 1987 during the coup that brough his friend and former comrade in arms Compaore to power.A police lab helping to investigate the killing of the former president yesterday monday said it had not managed to detect any of his DNA in the remains presumed to be his,according to a family lawyer.Remain...

A MAN KILLED HIS CO-TENANT OVER N5,000 ELECTRICITY BILL.

                               Yesterday monday a man identified as Chukwuebuka Okeke who allegedly beat Nwabunike Ezeike,a co-tenant to death over N5,000 electricity bill,was yesterday remanded in prison.An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate's  Court which gave the ruling,said the accused should be remanded at Ikoyi Prisons pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions {DPP}.The accused 28 who lives at Tokosi street,Orile-Iganmu,is being tried for murder.Prosecuting Corporal Iyobosa Onaiwu told the  court that the offence was committed on December 1.Onaiwu said Ezeike's death was caused by the blows he received on his head from Okeke following an argument over payment of electricity bills.He said the offence contravened section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state.Chief Magistrate B.O.Ope-Agbe adjourned the case to February 1.
