PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.   A woman allegedly killed her mother and chopped the body into pieces in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom. According to an eyewitness, Emmanuel Umanah, who posted the photos from the crime scene, the shocking incident happened at Umoh Obot road off Nto Akpan Inyang Street in Ikot Ekpene. Some of the photos shows the suspect carrying the body pieces in a bowl before she was tied up and bundled into a police van.More photos below.

  President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated President Roch Marc Christian Kabore of Burkina Faso on his re-election for a five-year second term in office. In a reaction welcoming the victory in Abuja on Friday, President Buhari said "I am pleased with the peaceful outcome of the election in which the voters of Burkina Faso renewed your mandate for another five years in office." According to the Nigerian leader, "winning a second term is a vote of confidence, but it also brings bigger challenges for leaders to work even harder to make life better for their citizens." The President also advised the re-elected Burkinabe leader to put partisanship aside and work for all Burkinabes, regardless of who voted for or against him, saying that "at this point, you're no longer the leader of your party but the leader of Burkina Faso."   The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the ongoing in-country Life Extension Programme (LEP) on 3 L-39ZA aircraft at the 403 Flying Training School (403 FTS), Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base Kano. He stated that the fleet reactivation efforts on the L-39 ZAs in Kano as well as on the Alpha Jet aircraft in Kainji, F-7Mi aircraft in Makurdi and C-130H aircraft in Ikeja, amongst others, clearly shows that the Federal Government is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that the NAF has the required assets to protect Nigeria. Justice Adie A. Onyebueke of the Cross River State High Court, Akamkpa, has sentenced one Augustine Effiong Bassey to five years imprisonment for stealing N27 million, belonging to a microfinance bank, where he was a branch manager. He was prosecuted by the Enugu Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), on a one-count charge of stealing. The charge read, “That you, Augustine Effiong Bassey (‘m’), sometime between 2010 and 2012 at Uyanga, Cross River State, within the jurisdiction of the High Court of Cross River State, with the intent to defraud, stole the sum of N27,300,000 (Twenty-seven Million, Three Hundred Thousand Naira), being property of Ekondo Microfinance Bank Limited and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 390 of the Criminal Code law, CAP C16 (VOL 3) of the Laws of Cross River State of Nigeria,2004 and punishable under Section 390(9) of the same Law.” He pleaded “not guilty” to the charge, thus setting the stage for his trial....

  Abubakar Mohammed Sani, a serving Deputy Comptroller of Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, was today arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, before Justice Hadiza Sabi’u Shagari of the Federal High Court Katsina on a six count charge of conspiracy and obtaining by false pretense. The defendant allegedly used his position as an officer of the Katsina Command of theNigerian Prisons Service (as it then was) and obtained a total sum of N2,850,000 (Two Million Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira ) from some persons under the guise of helping them secure employment into the Prison Service. Upon receipt of the complaints against the Officer, the Commission swung into action by inviting him but the defendant was evasive until August 26 , 2020, when he finally reported. NIGERIA RANKED 3RD MOST TERRORIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.{PHOTOS}.

  A new report released by the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) has ranked Nigeria, for the sixth consecutive year, as the third most terrorized country in the world. The report which was released on Wednesday, November 25, ranked Afghanistan as the number one most terrorized country in the world, followed by Iraq. Syria, Somalia, and Yemen are ranked fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively. The report however stated that terror-related incidents in Nigeria fell by 27% in the same period. This was attributed to a significant reduction in violence attributed to killer herdsmen. Other countries among the 10 most impacted by terrorism are Pakistan (seventh), India (eighth), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (ninth), and the Philippines (10th). According to the report, Nigeria witnessed her worst terrorist attack in 2019 in Borno State, where at least 70 people were killed and 10 others wounded when assailants attacked at a funeral.
