APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda.                Today wednesday,in the early hours troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion deployed at an Observation Post sighted a group of persons approaching its Check Point at Liwanto village along Damboa-Bulabuli n road,Borno State.On arrival,they were received and treated humanely based on International Humanitarian Laws and Rules of Engagement.On preliminary investigation,it was discovered that the 69 of them were indeed family members of Boko Haram terrorists escaping from Sambisa.Out of that number,7 of them are men,18 women,7 grown up boys and 37 children.At the initial state of interrogation,they claimed to have escaped from Boko Haram terrorists captivity at Ngwalimari village in Sambisa forest general area.But further interrogation revealed otherwise.The troops recovered 15 bicycles,5 Dane Guns and other personal effects from them.Further and thorough investigation is ongoing to ascertain other information from them-Colone...

                  Equatorial Guinea's President Teodoro Obiang Nguema has promoted his first son Teodoro 'Teodorin Obiang' Mangue as the country's vice-president.Teodorin has been second vice-president,a position that has been abolished in the new government structure,with uncertainty looming over that of Prime minister.The President's first son will also be in charge of Defence and National Security ministry according to a Brazilian newspaper.One more photo below.                                                                  

93 PEOPLE DIED WITHIN 2 DAYS IN INDIA,AFTER DEADLY LIGHTING STORMS.

                According to sources,at least 93 people died in lightning storms across the country in two days.Now the farmers in east India are calling for action from the government.The storm killed at least 56 people in Bihar state and 28 people were confirmed injured,then 37 people had died in the states of Uttar Pradesh,Jharkand and Madhya Pradesh.Lightning strikes are relatively common in India during the June to October monsoon,which hit the southern coast earlier this month,but this week's toll is particularly high.Rakesh Kumar Singh,the secretary of a Bihar Farmers collective called Jan Nirman Kendra,said yesterday tuesda's storm began at about 3pm in the district of Samastipur.''I was driving,and the light in the sky was so bright that i couldn't see anything,but i was too scared to stop,so i kept driving.It was as though there was a war happening in the sky.Before the rains came farmers were worried about drought,now that it's raining,...
