 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba.   On the 22/9/2020 at about 9:am police operatives attached to B'Division Awka arrested two Robbery suspects as follows, (i). Chigozie Simon 'm' aged 21years native of Aguata but resides at Kenfrank Lodge UNIZIK Tempsite Awka and, (ii).Onywka Simon 'm' aged 22years of same address. The Suspects who are brothers from same parents as well as undergraduates at Paul University and UNN allegedly entered a jewellery shop forcefully at Tempsite Awka,tied the sales girl and cover her mouth with cello tape.They also threatened to stab the sales girl on her neck if she scream and thereafter carted away 33 wrist watches,14 necklaces valued over three hundred thousand naira (#300,000) and cash sum of thirty seven thousand Naira(#37,000) Consequently, as the suspects were escaping, the sales girl loosened the tape and raised alarm which led to the arrest of the suspects after a hot chase. The Federal Government, through the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), is set to deploy Directors of Revenue to ten Federal Government Owned Enterprises (FGOEs) in the pilot phase of the exercise. The Federal Government Owened Enterprises (FGOEs) to which the Directors of Revenue will be deployed in this first phase include: The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, (NIMASA), Others are the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Department of Petroleum Resource (DPR), Nigerian Shippers' Council (NSC) and Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).     Residents complain about the state of Ariaria market in Aba after it rained... Rainfall in Aba forced traders to set up a stilt to protect their goods from water after the Ariaria market became flooded. According to residents, the rainfall wasn't heavy, yet the market was immediately flooded and they worried about what would happen when there's constant rainfall.   President Muhammadu Buhari will Thursday depart Abuja for Bissau to attend ceremonies celebrating the National Day of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, September 24. The President will join the Heads of State and Government of Senegal, Cote d’ Ivoire, Rwanda, Mauritania, Togo and Liberia to mark the 47th independence anniversary of Guinea Bissau. In Bissau, President Buhari will also commission a road named in his honour by the host government.
