 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. LAGOS PARADES 2 LASTMA OFFICERS FOR ALLEGED EXTORTION TODAY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Lagos State Government has paraded two officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), who allegedly received gratification from a traffic offender. The officers whose names were not revealed were summoned to the Governor’s office on Friday, following a petition from a lawyer to the offender. The two LASTMA officials allegedly received undisclosed amount of cash into their personal bank accounts as bribe to free the offender, who claimed to be driving on a one-way lane unknowingly. During a fact-finding engagement with the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the two officers admitted that they collected gratification from the offender, but claimed the offender paid the money to show appreciation. Dr. Hamzat condemned the act, noting that LASTMA officers did not have a brief to receive gratification from members of the public for carrying out their statutory duty. 18 SUSPECTED YAHOO BOYS ARRESTED BY EFCC IN UYO.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Operatives of the special task force of the Uyo Zonal Office of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday June 20, 2019, made a harvest of eleven suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as 'Yahoo Boys' in an apartment on Parliamentary Extension, Akai Efa, Calabar, the Cross River State capital. The all male suspects are: Endurance Ahunwan (28), Nohuwan Frank (26), Dominic Chidiebere (28), Idehe Efosa (17), Patrick Ed os (27), Samuel Ukiwe (21) and Michael Edward 25. Others are: Destiny Efe (17), Hope Yusuf (19), Harrison Esi (17) and Igbinigun Osamudia (17). Seventeen-year-old Esi was found hiding in the roof of the apartment along with some of their tools of operation. According to him, their leader, Ahunwan instructed him to conceal himself and the gadgets in the roof in order to prevent his arrest and confiscation of the tools.       His Excellency Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo - Olu, Governor of Lagos State has approved the Disengagement of Mr. Babatunde Bank Anthony as the Director General of the State Sports Commission, as well as approved the appointment of Mr. OLUWATOYIN GAFAR BOLOWOTAN as the New Director General of the State Sports Commission. PRINCE CHARLES TOURED THE 'JAMES BOND' SET YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

   Yesterday,   The Prince of Wales toured the James Bond set at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, the home of the 25th Bond film. The Prince was shown some of the cars used in the film by Daniel Craig, who plays 007, and visited ‘M’s office with actor Ralph Fiennes and director Cary Joji Fukunaga. HRH was able to watch a scene being filmed on screens alongside actors Naomie Harris and Lashana Lynch. HRH also met ‏apprentices from the BFI who are working on the film. The BFI Film Academy runs 52 academies across the UK, giving young people the opportunity to learn about filmmaking. The Prince has been Patron of the BFI for 40 years and most recently visited the institute’s centre at London’s Southbank.More photos below.
