 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. A HOUSE BOY DAVID IDAH,WHO KILLED A MAGISTRATE IN ABEOKUTA,WAS SENTENCED TODAY TO DEATH BY HANGING.

                                            According to sources,a 26 year old house boy David Idah who murdered a retired Senior Magistrate Mrs Olufunmilayo Timeyin,was today wednesday sentenced to death.Justice Abiodun Akinyemi today wednesday sentenced the accused who hails from Benue state and worked as a domestic aide for the late senior magistrate,to death by hanging.The convict had on March 28,2014,killed the 65 year old magistrate at her residence in Laderin Housing Estate,Abeokuta,hacking her with machete before slaughtering her about 3pm.He attacked the magistrate because she sacked him after he was caught stealing.He however returned to the house,scaled the fence before killing the retired magistrate.The convict was arraigned on April 4th 2014,in Abeokuta Chief Magistrate court on one count of unlawful killing.The offence contravened sections 316 and 319 of the Crimin...

                             40 years old Mr Sunday Oliseh,who was appointed as the new coach of Nigeria said today wednesday that ''We are not doing Nigeria any favour.My coming to coach the senior team is to serve our fatherland,we have not come to fight war''.Yesterday tuesday evening,Sunday Oliseh who was the former Super Eagle Captain and his assistants had a 90 minute meeting with the Nigerian Football Federation {NFF} Technical and Development Committee,headed by Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu,where he unfolded his plans for the Super Eagles.After the meeting,the NFF Executive Committee received the report of the Technical and Development Committee,and unanimously adopted the recommendation to hire Oliseh as the new Super Eagles Head Coach.Oliseh's first assignment will be in the away African Nations cup qualifier in Tanzania in September.

81 PEOPLE INJURED,AFTER A MOUSE TRIGGERED A PANIC YESTERDAY IN A CASABLANCA MOSQUE.

                 According to the Moroccan news agency,a mouse triggered panic and a crush in a Casablanca Mosque,living more than 80 people injured,mostly women.The incident occurred in the city's Hassan II Mosque,which was packed during evening prayers yesterday tuesday,the holiest night night of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.Sources said ''Eight one people,mostly women,suffered light injuries and fractures while some of them fainted''.The panic broke out after a woman raised the alarm over the mouse,sparking a sudden exodus of screaming worshipers.Among those needing treatment was a pregnant who suffered a double fracture in the leg and has been kept under surveillance in the hospital.
