APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda. POLICE ARREST SERIAL KIDNAPPER - Rescue and reunite victims with their families. Following painstaking investigation and intelligence gathering into the abduction of a three-year old boy, Bright, on October 27, 2022 in Ejigbo area of Lagos State, detectives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Lagos State Command, have arrested one serial kidnapper, Joy Kolapo f aged 28. The suspect was arrested in Omi Adio area of Oyo state on November 12, 2022 with another victim, one Moses 'm aged 7 whom she had kidnapped in Olopo Meta area of Oyo state. Investigation led to the rescue of Bright in Akute area of Ogun State same day the suspect was arrested. Further investigation revealed that the suspect was a neighbor to Bright's parents and had received the sum of Fifty-Five Thousand Naira (N55,000) from his parents for his return. FEMALE POLICE OFFICER ON TRAFFIC DUTY LEFT BLEEDING AFTER ASSAULTED BY SOLDIER A female police officer on traffic duty in Calabar, Cross River State was yesterday assa#ulted by a soldier, leaving her to bleed from the eye. Reports said the police officer was atta#cked by the yet to be identified soldier in company of a few of his colleagues around Mobil Junction on Murtala Mohammed Way. The atta#ck resulted in a face-off between police and army officers with the highway temporarily blocked on account of the resultant tension. Trouble was said to have begun when the female police officer directing traffic at the spot stopped the army officer who rode a black Toyota Corolla with Lagos registration number AGL 175 HA. The army officer, who at the time was not in uniform, was said to have dealt heavy punches on the police woman, after which he fled in his car. Police in Delta arrest 4 for killing landlord over N20,000 disagreement  Following report received by the DPO Sapele Division from a distress caller (name withheld), that on 16/11/2022 at about 0900hours, he discovered that his landlord named Uguru Dominic ‘m’ aged 29yrs and his male friend name and address not known were found dead in the bathroom, suspected to have been murdered by unknown persons, and that the suspect made away with the victim’s Toyota Corolla car with Reg no. ABJ 271 white in colour.  The DPO detailed detectives to unravel the mystery behind the deaths. 21-YEAR-OLD MAN STABBED TO DEATH BY HIS GIRLFRIEND IN LEKKI. (PHOTO).

21-year-old man stabbed to death by his girlfriend in Lekki The police in Lagos state have arrested a young lady identified as Esther Paul, pictured above, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Sadiq Owolabi Dahiru, to death at Oba Amusa Street Agungi, Lekki in the early hours of today November 20.   According to police sources, the stepfather of the deceased, Kazeem Obafunso, reported at the Ilasan police station that Esther stabbed his 21-year-old stepson. Police officers were drafted to the scene where they moved the deceased to the Evercare hospital in Lekki phase 1 where he was confirmed dead by the doctors. Esther was immediately arrested while the knife she allegedly used to commit the crime, was recovered.  The body of the deceased has been deposited at the IDH Mortuary, Yaba for preservation and autopsy.

FRSC Concludes 2022 Remembrance Day For Victims Of Road Crashes With Prayer Service The Acting Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Dauda Biu has admonished all road users to desist from actions that are inimical to the safety of others.  Mr Biu gave the admonishment during a prayer service in commemoration of the 2022 African Road Safety Day and World Day of Remembrance of Victims of Road Crashes in Amawbia. Comedian Sabinus apologises for missing Anambra poly event Popular comedian, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel, also known as Sabinus, has apologised for his failure to show up at an event hosted by one Johnbosco Ezeuchegbu aka Crazylegs, for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State. Sabinus, who had earlier publicised the event failed to show up at the Thursday event, causing angry students to destroy the venue. Crazylegs on Friday called out the skit maker on Instagram, stating that Sabinus had scammed him after being paid N2million for his performance. The event planner wrote, “Please, guys help me. 38 Parents Of Missing Chibok Girls Die In Three Years The president of the Missing Chibok Girl’s Parent Association, Yakubu Nkeki, has said that 38 parents of the missing girls have died in the first three years of the incident.  He made this known at an art exhibition whichheld in Ikoyi, Lagos on Saturday. Nkeki said, “It’s not a small test for Chibok families. I want to share with you, almost 38 parents died, refused to eat, no help rendered to them during the first, second and third years of these girls in captivity. It gives me a tough time to organise the families and get together, you know we are from different locations in Chibok Local Government. I have to use a bicycle and ride almost 50km to see some of the parents.”

18th November, 2022 PRESS RELEASE DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND  RECOVERS ONE PUMP ACTION GUN, FOUR LOCALLY MADE GUNS, EIGHTEEN ROUNDS OF LIVE CARTRIDGES DURING STOP AND SEARCH   On the 17/11/2022 at about 2200hrs, Police operatives attached to Ebrumede Division while on stop and search duty along DSC express road Warri, sighted a tricycle with Reg. No. Delta EFR 175 VK conveying two occupants heading towards the Police checking point. The operatives flagged down the tricycle  for a routine check. Surprisingly, the two occupants of the tricycle jump out and escaped from the scene abandoning the tricycle. Upon search of the tricycle, one (1) pump action gun, one (1) locally made long gun, three (3) locally made cut-to-size guns, and eighteen (18) rounds of live cartridges were recovered.
