APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda.                                  Duke of Cambridge Prince William met with Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta today thursday and he promised to support Kenya's efforts in fighting poaching.Prince William is in Kenya to see the longstanding conservation and anti-poaching initiatives being supported by Tusk Trust according too President Uhuru's tweets,which further add that the two leaders discussed conservation,security and defence.His visit comes just before Kenya burns the world's biggest ivory stockpile.At least 120 tonnes of ivory eight times the size of any ivory ever destroyed and 1.5 tonnes of Rhino horns will be destroyed next month in Kenya.More photos below.                                                                

3 SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED AFTER ONE OF THEM,WERE RECENTLY CAUGHT WITH POUNDED HUMAN FLESH IN LAGOS.

                     The Lagos state Police Public Relation Officer,PPRO,SP Dolapo Badmos who confirmed the arrest said the three suspects were arrested with human flesh by the Anti Robbery Squad SARS and they are undergoing interrogation following the discovery.According to her,the police arrested Ekene with the human flesh and when he was interrogated he said he was sent by one oil magnate.Police sources said Ekene was accosted by the police detective on routine checks along Bucknor area of Ejigbo with one white sack containing undiscovered content.Ekene was ordered to open the sack and he confessed that it contained human flesh.He was subsequently arrested and taken to the station where the matter was transffered to SARS.When he made a confessional statement,he told he police that he was promised N500,000 by the oil magnate who asked him to abduct a baby for him.He said out of the money he was promised,he was paid N100,000 as adv...
