 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba.        Dr. Titilayo Goncalves, an accomplished Dental Surgeon and 1982 graduate of University College Hospital, Ibadan, has been appointed the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Health. A recipient of many of the departmental awards including the Dr. V. Oki Prize for the best graduating student, Dr. Goncalves pioneered the Orthodontic Department of the General Hospital, Lagos and also directed affairs at the Lago s State Dental Service. Due to her achievements and expertise in handling the establishment of the Orthodontic Department of the General Hospital in Lagos, Titilayo Goncalves was invited to set up the Orthodontic Department at the National Hospital, Abuja.         Today The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay (as The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall are known when in Scotland) visited The Fife Arms in Braemar, Aberdeenshire, to mark the inn’s re-opening. Dating back to 1856, The Fife Arms is located in the village of Braemar, home of the Highland Games. The new inn brings together Scottish heritage, craftsmanship and culture and one of the rooms is decorated with artwork by Gideon Summerfield, a graduate of the Royal Drawing Schoo l. The Duke and Duchess often visit local communities when in residence at Birkhall, their Scottish home.More photos below.

        Gallant troops of 7 Division Garrison carrying out cordon and search operations in conjunction with troops of 195 Battalion, Mobile Policemen and CJTF, in some parts of the fringes of Maiduguri today discovered and arrested a wanted Boko Haram terrorists group member called Babagana Abubakar (aka Alagarno), hiding at Bulabulim Ngarnam community. He was found hiding in a room in possession of 2 military B allistic helmets, a pair of military desert boot, a fragment jacket, a Jersey pull over, military backpack, camouflage design shorts, 2 voters identification cards, National identification card, amulets, camouflage T-shirts and military jungle hat.       EFCC PRESS RELEASE Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has called on the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, to see itself as an important ally of the EFCC in the fight against corruption and to assist the anti-graft agency in ensuring that Nigeria’s borders are not used for illicit fund movement. He gave the charge through the Zonal Head of the South-East Zone, Enugu, Usman Imam, on January 10, 2019 during a courtesy visit to the Customs Area Comptroller, Jammal Adediran.        Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom and his deputy, Engineer Benson Abounu among other top government functionaries are part of the memorial church service in honour of the 73 victims of herdsmen attacks on Benue communities on 1st January, 2018. The victims who are heroes of the Benue State Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law 2017 were buried on the 11th day of Janua ry, 2018. The international church service is anchored by the Catholic Bishop of Makurdi Diocese, Most Reverend Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe and is being held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral, Makurdi.
