PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.       Ten years after the commencement of the 10-lane Lagos-Badagry Expressway, life is set to return to the axis as the Lagos State Government today flagged off the continuation of the road construction that experienced low activities in the last four years.        The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, re-arraigned a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on an 11-count charge bordering on money laundering and stealing to the tune of N6.9billion (Six Billion, Nine Hundred Million Naira). Fayose was arraigned alongside one of his firms,  Spotless Investment Limited, for the alleged fraud. The former governor was first arraigned on October 22, 2018 before Justice Mojisola Olatotegun alongside a company, Spotless Investment Limited, on an 11-counts bordering on stealing and money laundering.        Justice Mahmood Abdulgafar of a Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Monday, July 1, 2019 turned down a bail application filed by a self acclaimed harbalist, Jamiu Isiaka who is standing trial over alleged thirty million naira fraud. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had on June 11, 2019, arraigned Isiaka on a four count charge of fraud, conspiracy and impersonating some senior government  officials including the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr Maikanti Baru, Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr Femi Adeshina, a national commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Amina Zakari among others.        Kaduna state governor,Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has on Monday, visited St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Tudun-Wada, where the church altar was burnt last Friday night, saying investigation into the incident ongoing. The governor who led other government officials to the church commended Kaduna Polytechnic students for putting off the fire which averted burning down the church. Speaking with journalists after the assessment of the church, el-Rufai, said those behind the incident want to cause another round of crisis in the state, applauding Kaduna residents for living in peace with one another:” We are here to visit the church and sympathise with them.      Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, Monday morning stepped down as the senior pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, over alleged rape allegation by Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola. Pastor Fatoyinbo, in a post on his Instagram page on Monday, announced stepping down from the pulpit following the saga.
