 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. He reassured that the police would continue to work diligently to protect lives and property and pledged to leave no stone unturned in maintaining peace and stability in the state. 10 PEOPLE DEAD IN FRESH ATTACK,NEAR CHIBOK.

               According to sources,suspected Islamist militants killed at least 10 people on sunday in an attack o a village less tha 5km {3 miles }from Chibok.A witness named Samuel Chibok,a survivor of the attack on Kautikiri village in the Chibok community said around 20 me i a Toyota pick up truck and motorcycles rolled into town.''Initially i thought they were military but when i came out,they were firing at people.I saw people fleeing and they burned our house''.A local vigilante said residents had so far recovered 10 bodies from the village.
