 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. 200 DIED YESTERDAY IN A CHURCH BUILDING COLLAPSE IN AKWA IBOM STATE+LUCKLY THE GOVERNOR ESCAPED DEATH.{PHOTOS}.

                       Yesterday saturday the Governor of Akwa Ibom State,Mr Udom Emmanuel,narrowly escaped death as the building of Reigners Bible Chuech Int'l Inc,along Uyo Village Road,Uyo,the state capital,collapsed during service.The incident left about 200 worshippers dead.Sources said it took the efforts of the governor's security officers to whisk him away to safety.He was said to have sustained a minor injury.The governor was in the church attending the ordination of the church's Presiding Pasto,Bishop Elect Akan Weeks,when the building gave way few minutes before offering period.One of the aides,who rescued the governor,was said to have died at a nearby hospital where he was rushed to.A security who spoke to pressmen but did not want to be named,said many dignitaries who accompanied the governor to the church also died.Chief Press Secretary to the Governor,Ekerette Udoh,also sustained serious injury.It was gathered that construction works on a section where the or

The alleged killing and mass arrest by soldiers in Tai,Ogoni,Gokhna-Ogoni LGA of Rivers State were false.It is true that soldiers of 6 Division Nigerian Army provided security during the Rivers State Legislative Re-run Election that was conducted today.In addition,the allegations made by some respected politicians regarding deep involvement of soldiers during the elections were aimed at tarnishing the positive image of the Army. 2.
