 4 Killed, Several Injured As Reckless Driver Rams Into Primary School In Kaduna A devastating incident occurred earlier today at Barnawa Primary School in Kaduna, located near Barnawa market, when a vehicle rammed into the school premises, leaving a trail of death and destruction. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle, driven recklessly, crashed into the school, resulting in the deaths of four individuals.  Several others were injured and are currently receiving medical attention. In the aftermath of the incident, an enraged mob descended upon the scene, lynching the driver and setting the vehicle ablaze.  However, swift intervention by the police prevented further violence, and the perpetrator was taken into custody.  Rwanda confirms first cases of Ebola-like Marburg virus Rwanda has confirmed its first cases of Marburg disease, a viral hemorrhagic fever that can cause death, among some patients, the country's health ministry said on Friday, Reuters reported. It said in a statement that it was investigating to determine the origin of infection, and that those infected had been isolated for treatment. The ministry did not give exact numbers but said there were few cases. With a fatality rate of as high as 88%, Marburg is from the same virus family as the one responsible for Ebola and is transmitted to people from fruit bats. It then spreads through contact with bodily fluids of infected people. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache vomiting, muscle aches and stomach aches, the ministry said. Neighbouring Tanzania had cases of Marburg in 2023, while Uganda had similar ones in 2017.

 Eight young Nigerian girls trafficked to Ghana repatriated The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has confirmed the rescue of eight young girls trafficked to Ghana. While receiving the young ladies at the NiDCOM Annex Office in Lagos, Abike Dabiri-Erewa said the rescued girls have been handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, to ensure that they have safe and comfortable accommodations pending their formal rehabilitation and reintegration with their families. The rescued girls, aged between 15 and 22, hail from various states across Nigeria, including Ebonyi, Akwa-Ibom, Imo, Plateau, and Cross River. They were allegedly lured to Ghana under false promises of employment but were forced into sexual exploitation.  Isaac Bristol ‘PIDOM’ granted bail Bristol Issac Tamunobifiri, popularly known by his X name PIDOM Nigeria, has been granted bail. PIDOM was arraigned on Friday, September 27, on a nine-count charge filed against him by the Inspector-General of Police at the Federal High Court in Abuja. On 29/12/2021, a significant number of hoodlums blocked the Bogoro-Tafawa Balewa Highway, sparking civil unrest in protest against the 21st memorial anniversary of the late Baba Gonto, a freedom fighter of the Sayawa people. This event, organized by his children in collaboration with the Zaar Development Association and convened by Prof. Suleiman E. Bogoro, was scheduled to be held on 30th & 31st December 2021.  Press Release 27th September, 2024 The Editors,                             CRIME BULLETIN CRIME; ARREST OF 5OOL AND 400L STUDENTS OF ATBU FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, HOUSEBREAKING, AND THEFT Two individuals have been apprehended by the Bauchi State Police Command for suspected criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, and theft. Intelligence at the disposal of the Command that, on  26th September 2024, around 10:00 AM, an anonymous individual alerted the Divisional Police Headquarters Yelwa about a group of students assaulting two of their peers, Bamusa Mohammed Bako, a 25-year-old 400L student of Urban and Regional Planning, and Yusuf Umar, also known as Danfari, a 28-year-old 500L student of Industrial Design, both from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Yelwa Campus. Upon receiving the report, a team of detectives led by DPO Yelwa was dispatched to the scene to rescue the victims and initiate an investigation. Gavin Newsom signed, according to AP.. The legislation was part of a package of reparations bills introduced this year that seek to offer repair for decades of policies that drove racial disparities for African Americans. Newsom also approved laws to improve protections against hair discrimination for athletes and increase oversight over the banning of books in state prisons. Newsom signed the bills after vetoing a proposal Wednesday that would have helped Black families reclaim or be compensated for property that was unjustly seized by the government through eminent domain. The bill by itself would not have been able to take full effect because lawmakers blocked another bill to create a reparations agency that would have reviewed claims.  Sewage pipe bursts in China, sending fountain of yellow liquid several stories high and shattering car windows On the morning of September 24, in Nanning, Guangxi, a newly installed sewage pipeline suddenly burst during a pressure test at a road construction site on Xiuxiang Avenue in the city's High-Tech Zone.  The accident caused a large amount of yellow sewage to gush out, reaching heights of over 10 metres, equivalent to several stories, affecting the surrounding environment and vehicles passing by. Video footage shows large amounts of yellow sewage spraying into the air, landing on the windshields of moving cars. A nearby excavator was overturned, and the rear window of a car was shattered by the force of the incident. According to responses from the Nanning Emergency Management Bureau and relevant departments in the High-Tech Zone, no casualties were reported, though several vehicles sustained varying degrees of damage.
