PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has said his arrest in the United States over credit card fraud and forgery in 1986 is not sufficient grounds for his disqualification by the All Progressives Congress (APC). Abiodun disclosed this while responding to a petition submitted by an APC member, Ayodele Oludiran on behalf of Oluwatobi Sofela of Ogun Bibire Unity Forum to the National Chairman of the party, Abdulahi Adamu. Sofela had warned that the party might lose the governorship seat in Ogun due to Abiodun’s criminal history and its concealment from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) despite swearing an oath. “If action is not taken, the chances of our great party, the APC, retaining the governorship seat in Ogun State shall be in jeopardy as previously seen in Bayelsa and Zamfara states,” Sofela said.

Okorocha who appeared on "Politics Today" on Tuesday evening disclosed that Buhari has not revealed his preferred candidate or given his support to any aspirant yet. He said; "If you know President Muhammadu Buhari, he is a general and you can't predict. He is so unpredictable, you can't predict what he will do. He might pull anybody by surprise. AfDB MOBILIZES $540M FOR NIGERIA TO DEVELOP SPECIAL AGRO-INDUSTRIAL PROCESSING ZONES   The African Development Bank (AfDB) will support Nigeria to develop Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones, as part of the quest for food security in the country.   Dr Akinwumi Adesina, President of the Bank and a former Minister of Agriculture, disclosed this while briefing President Muhammadu Buhari at State House, Abuja, on Tuesday.   Said Dr Adesina: “We have decided to mobilize $540 for the program. The African Development Bank has approved a total of $210 million. COVID-19: Federal Government Worries About Resurgence  The Federal Government of Nigeria has warned that there may be possible re-emergence of COVID-19 in the country if citizens fail to take adequate preventive measures. Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, who sounded the warning yesterday, at a bi-weekly COVID-19 media briefing organised by the Health Promotion Department of the ministry in Abuja, expressed worry as another wave of the virus hit China and some parts of Europe, leading to renewed lockdowns. Governor Soludo Visits FRSC Officer Who Survived Armed Men Attack Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo today, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, visited a patrol officer attached to the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr Ikechukwu Egwu, who survived unknown gunmen attack along Igbo-Ukwu/Uga Road early this month. Professor Soludo, who was represented by his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, thanked God for the survivor and condemned incessant attacks by hoodlums on security agents in the state. Nigerian Fraud Suspect Extradited to U.S. over Alleged $148,000 Scam A wire fraud suspect, Adedunmola Gbadegesin was on Tuesday April 26, 2022, extradited to the United States where he is wanted in a case of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. The offences contravene Title 18, US Code, Section 1349 and 1956 (h) and carries a maximum jail term of 20 years. His extradition was coordinated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, following a request from the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, pursuant to a February 11, 2022 Order by Justice D.E Osiagor of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in Suit No. FHC/L/CS/765/21, which granted a request to extradite the suspect to the United States to answer to criminal charges bordering on romance scam, wire fraud and money laundering. Gbadegesin who was arrested on September 2, 2021, is alleged to have defrauded an America lady living in Kentucky, United States, of over $148,000. More photos below.
