APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda.         BBC News  on the 26/6/18, announced the arrest of Josephine Iyamu aka Madam Sandra, agency nurse. She was Convicted of trafficking girls from Benin to Germany as Sex Slaves. She was arrested at the airport on her return to London. She was a Nurse in the day & human trafficker otherwise. She was running for election into the Edo State  House of Assembly under the umbrella of APC. You will not believe she was running for election on a ticket for women's rights, Same group of people whose human rights she violated.More photos below.

2019: IGP IDRIS WARNS POLITICIANS AGAINST ARMING THUGS,HATE SPEECHES.

       Lagos - The Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Kpotun-Idris has warned politicians in the country to desist from giving arms to political thugs as Nigeria prepares for the 2019 general elections. Idris, while speaking on Thursday in Lagos at a one-day retreat on Electoral Logistics in preparation for the 2019 general elections organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) urged  politicians not to see election as a "do or die" affair. He also cautioned against hate speeches describing it as the ember for violence that should be eliminated from the country's political space in order to ensure a violence-free polls next year. Idris noted that hate speech and animosity have been identified as some of the major causes of electoral violence in Nigeria. GOV. WIKE FLAGS OFF CONSTRUCTION OF ULTRAL-MODERN SECRETARIAT FOR RIVERS NLC TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

     Rivers State Government has flagged off the construction of the State Secretariat of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Rivers State. Speaking during the ground-breaking event in Port Harcourt on Friday performed by the NLC President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba , Governor Wike stated that the State Government will also finance the construction of the Rivers State Secretariat of the Trade Union Congress (TUC). Governor Wike said that the State Government is embarking on the projects in appreciation of the cordial working relationship with Rivers workers. He said: "We have worked harmoniously with labour. They have not troubled this administration with unnecessary strikes . In order to build stability, we have set up a structure that will enhance the performance of labour.       The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced a 3-day Legal Conference for NAF field commanders and legal officers at the Air Vice Marshal (AVM) EE Edem Multipurpose Hall, NAF Base Maiduguri. The Conference, which has the theme “The Role of Military Lawyers in Contemporary Military Operations”, is one of the human capacity building initiatives of the current NAF leadership aimed at enhancing the knowledge of participants to enable them more effectively tackle legal issues associated with the performance of their constitutional roles.       Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday evening visited the scene of the tanker explosion which occurred on Otedola Bridge inward Ojodu Berger along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, describing the incident as sad and unfortunate. The incident, which occurred at about 5pm, was said to have left over 50 vehicles burnt and nine people dead. Governor Ambode, who visited the scene at about 9:30pm where he was briefed by Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Mr Seye Oladejo, among other emergency response agencies, particularly commiserated with the families of the victims and those who lost their properties to the incident.
